AlUla is often explored and appreciated for its ancient link to the Kingdom’s heritage.

From the traditional mud-brick buildings of Old Town to the awe-inspiring landscape to the internationally recognised historical locations including Hegra and most recently, the rock inscriptions of Jabal Ikmah, both of which have been recognized as significant links to our past by UNESCO: AlUla's potential and intrigue extends far beyond the sandy landscape.

Beyond the rich history of the rocky, red desert plains, AlUla has also become a destination of retreat for those seeking the luxurious oases of indulgent escape.

Not often spoken about is the region’s culinary scene. Similar to AlUla’s landscape, the dining experiences are rich, filled with culture and heart, and are oh, so memorable. The Royal Commission of AlUla is pioneering an Oasis to table concept, from traditional Saudi cuisine to Middle Eastern specialties and international creations, the dining experiences in AlUla are nothing short of gastronomical encounters.

If you find yourself searching for something a little bit different, these are four restaurants we recommend putting on your list.

Daimumah Restaurant – AlUla Oasis

Surrounded by swaying palm trees and fragrant orange trees, Daimumah Restaurant is the perfect place to visit and reconnect with nature. Diners can enjoy the light breeze that sweeps through the outdoor restaurant, as they sit back on rustic and minimalistic designed furniture to enjoy a cooling beverage or a delicious meal. Pivoting on a unique oasis-to-table menu using locally sourced ingredients, Daimumah Restaurant invites guests to indulge in flavourful and fresh dishes such as the juicy, glazed chicken placed on a bed of freshly tossed Caesar salad.

A multi-sensory experience, Harrat has gorgeous views and the interiors showcase the craftworks and arts of local creators. Somewhere – Old Town

In the heart of AlUla’s Old Town is ‘Somewhere’. At Somehwere diners can expect to graze on Middle Eastern delights with an international and modern twist, such as succulent chicken shawarma bao buns, vibrant bright pink beetroot hummus and fresh shrimp rolled in crispy kunafa pastry. Its chic, modern, and laid-back environment makes you feel at home. Enjoy dining at the outdoor terrace, surrounded by palm trees, overlooking a fountain, and live in the moment. This is somewhere you’ll most definitely remember.

Tawlet Fayza – Old Town

Satisfy your cravings for wholesome Arabic cuisine at Tawlet Fayza. Translating to ‘Fayza’s Table’ in English, the restaurant was inspired by the childhood meals served by founder’s grandmother, Fayza. Located in a refurbished, traditional mud-brick building in Old Town, Tawlet Fayza will allow diners to experience traditional, oasis-to-fork fresh, organic and authentic Arabic meals. Dessert here is a must-try, we recommend indulging in the mouth-watering mohalabiya sweet milk pudding, if you haven’t tried it before.
