A brand-new food festival begins today in Riyadh.

Running for just shy of one week, from Wednesday November 8 through to Sunday November 12, the 'Food Culture Festival' is a new foodie event that is the perfect outing for the whole family.

The Food Culture Festival is the first of five fresh and flavourful food festivals on the horizon across the Kingdom, taking place throughout November and December. Brought to life by the Ministry of Culture (MOC) two of these gastronomic events have been planned for the capital city of Riyadh in November, while the remaining three are set to take place in various locations in December, including Al Khobar and Diriyah.

Set to celebrate culture through food, the Food Culture Festival will spotlight both local and international cuisines, unique ingredients and speciality dishes.

The festival area will be located at the Grassy Park in the Diplomatic Quarter of the city, and will include several zones such as: the exhibitors area, a children's zone, a performance section and an area dedicated to workshops and interactive showcases.

Aiming to create dialogue and opportunities for cultural exchange through sharing food, the Food Culture Festival will feature more than twenty different workshops and live cooking experiences over the five day festival.

Like any good food festival, the main event is in the eating.

Explore the exhibitor area that boasts the finest of Saudi and international street food, complemented by kiosks offering souvenirs to bring home and recreate the delicious dishes in your own kitchen.

Whilst the kid's zone will focus on play and interactive activities for children using food as a vehicle for local and international cultural exchange in an easily understood way.

From November 8 - 12, open from 5pm - midnight.
