If you’re an art enthusiast or simply looking for unique and unforgettable dining experiences, we’ve got you covered. This curated list of select restaurants and cafés in Saudi redefines the typical dining experience, and takes patrons on a luxurious, distinct, and art-inspired culinary journey.

LPM

As well as bagging the 42nd spot on the 2022 “MENA's 50 Best Restaurants” list, LPM Riyadh is one of the best-known, fine dining experiences in the Saudi capital.

The famous French Riviera restaurant has a minimalistic, modern interior, with a light color palette, paired with a lively ambiance and bursts of color on contemporary artworks and paintings from the South of France. One fine example is the artwork by French Riviera-based artist Max Cartier, with two saucepans displayed on the walls representing his signature touch. Vivid bouquets add even more pops of color and complement the paintings mounted throughout the space.

Guests get to indulge in delicious, colorful dishes, such as: Loup De Mer Préparé En Croûte De Sel, which is a salt-baked sea bass served with artichokes and tomatoes; Grosses Crevettes Grillées, a plate of delicious tiger prawns that have been marinated with green chilies and coriander; and Arrabbiata, a classic, homemade, rigatoni pasta dish with tomato and chili.

Signor Sassi

A popular destination for many celebrities, musicians, and business leaders in its hometown, London, Signor Sassi has been described as the jewel in the crown of Italian restaurants.

Its Riyadh restaurant, also known as Villa Signor Sassi, is an elegant eatery with a modern interior, luxurious feel, and rustic ambiance. On your way inside, you will instantly be charmed by alleyways that are reminiscent of those in Italy. Lush décor adorns the dining area and a fancy bar area with modern highchairs overlooks a marvelously designed glass pantry. Additionally, the simple pairing of coral and neutral tones brings warmth and calmness into the space.

The restaurant’s Octopus Salad served with fresh rocket and potatoes; its organic Roast Chicken; and the signature Neapolitan Calzone stuffed with spinach, salami, and four types of cheeses are some of the top dishes to try at Signor Sassi.

Beefbar

Here’s where street and comfort food are presented in a high-end butcher shop. From Monte-Carlo to Riyadh, Beefbar combines modernity and luxury, with a simple, comfortable, and accessible experience.

Luxury is presented through design, with marble incorporated into the tables, columns, and the floor, alongside high windows and elegant serving plates. The marbled concept is also reflected in Beefbar’s sweet, creamy, and minimalistic signature Marble Chocolate Bar.

Beefbar’s relaxed, streetstyle mood is emphasized via fun plates with emojis inspired by the founder, Riccardo Giraudi. Everyone’s favorite emojis are imprinted on the tailormade, white Limoges porcelain plates by famous porcelain producer Bernardaud.

As well as the Comfort Food section on the menu, diners can choose between the Leaf (greens), Beef (meat), and Reef (seafood) options in the Street Food section.

Lido

With a high-end, luxurious interior, Lido is not your typical café. The coveted Khobar meeting point will make you feel as if you’ve walked into a castle from the 19th century, yet it does have a modern twist. Inspired by Monaco, Lido combines France’s charming and vibrant nightlife with its history.

The interiors will simply take your breath away. You will automatically find yourself marveling at the glistening chandelier and statue situated next to the bar area. In addition, artistic pieces are found throughout the café, including marvelous paintings, chairs, and plates. What’s more, there’s even a dedicated space for an art gallery.

Lido provides a variety of food options, including delectable desserts like its San Sebastian and Crème Brûlée.

Akiba Café

With a quirky design and colorful décor, Jeddah’s Akiba is the first manga café in the kingdom, making it the perfect escape for manga and anime fans.

Local artists get to display their manga works at the café, which is why beautifully crafted anime paintings and drawings are spotted throughout. Akiba Café also has a manga library with over 900 volumes for readers to enjoy for free. With this number increasing on a monthly basis, the library is seriously supporting reading culture. Several board games and game nights, as well as daily anime viewings on the café’s TV, knock up the fun factor.

Signature iced drinks inspired by anime characters include Sanji, Zoro, and Conan, and Akiba also offers crowd favorites such as its Matcha Latte and famous Mochi dessert.
