It is an open secret that Riyadh’s fine dining scene is continuously evolving, and the city is becoming a hub of internationally renowned dining destinations and has famous chefs and hospitality gurus flocking to open restaurants in the capital.

And Michelin-starred chef Daniel Boulud is no stranger to the Kingdom; Boulud's latest venture Julien, a ten-seater chef's table experience that is only bookable by phone is set to redefine luxury gastronomy and experiential dining in the city.

Julien Will Be Intimate and Indulgent

Found within Café Boulud at Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh, Julien offers diners an ultra-intimate, ten-seat chef’s table experience, where guests embark on a meticulously curated multi-course journey. With a front-row view of the open kitchen, diners witness culinary artistry in real time, blending French finesse with regional influences in a setting designed for exclusivity.

Julien is more than just a restaurant, it’s an immersive dining experience. Guests are seated around a marble-topped chef’s counter, tucked away in a hidden enclave behind Café Boulud. The space is designed to feel personal and immersive, with soft lighting and a direct view of the chefs at work. Leading the kitchen is Chef Thierry Motsch, under the guidance of Daniel Boulud, ensuring that every dish reflects precision, technique, and bold flavours.

While the full menu remains under wraps, diners can expect dishes that merge French culinary tradition with Saudi Arabian inspiration, early previews hint at creations like sumac salmon, showcasing the fusion of local ingredients with classic French techniques.

Born in Lyon, France, Daniel Boulud is one of the world’s most celebrated chefs, renowned for his refined approach to French cuisine.

His culinary journey began at 15, when he apprenticed at a two-Michelin-starred restaurant in Lyon. By 17, he was recognised as a finalist for the Best Culinary Apprentice in France. Since arriving in New York in 1982, Boulud has established himself as a leading force in fine dining, with his two-Michelin-starred restaurant, Daniel, and the growing Café Boulud brand, which now spans locations across the USA, Canada, Saudi Arabia and even the Caribbean.
