Rafael Nadal has been a regular on the professional tennis circuit and on our television screens, but with the announcement of his retirement from the sport just last week, could the Riyadh Season crowd be the last to see the 'King of the Clay' take to the court?
This question remains top of mind for sports and tennis fans around the world, particularly as countdown to the second edition of the much-anticipated Riyadh Season 6 King's Slam competition edges closer and closer.
Will the 6 King's Slam be Nadal's last game?
The 6 Kings Slam tournament will offer fans a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness some of the greatest tennis players in history compete against each other, and maybe Nadal's last ever match
Set to be one of the final farewells of the tennis era we have known (and loved), and what could be seen as a passing of the torch to a new generation of competitive sportsmen, the 6 Kings Slam will see a new tranche of young professional tennis champions, take on the stalwart victors of the last two decades.
Over the courses of three days of competitive play (and one rest day), these up-and-coming stars of the courts will play against each other in the first rounds, with the winner of each preliminary match then to be pitted against one of the two tennis masters - Novak Djokovic or Rafael Nadal.
Russian professional Daniil Medvedev will take on twenty-three year old, Italian Jannik Sinner, whilst Denmark's highest ranking male tennis player in history Holger Rune will go head-to-head with the twenty-one year old, two-time Wimbledon Champion Carlos Alcaraz, with the finalists of each going on to play tennis legends, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic.
Taking place over just four days, the 6 Kings Slam will be an intense showdown of incredible talent and tennis prowess. Beginning on October 16 with two quarter-finals matches, and followed by a day of semi-finals games on October 17, with the finals taking place on Saturday October 19.
October 16: Quarter Finals Match 1, Quarter Finals Match 2
October 17: Semi Finals Match 1, Semi Finals Match 2

Rafael Nadal's Career
Fans lovingly refer to the sportsman as "Rafa," and the Spanish professional tennis player is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time. Nadal's unique, left-handed playing style, aggressive baseline game and fast feet, have earned him numerous accolades and a dedicated fan base from around the world.
With a career spanning over two decades, the now 38-year old, Rafael Nadal, has achieved legendary status in tennis. With 1000 tour wins, 22 Grand Slam titles, including a record 14 French Open championships, and two Olympic gold medals, the Spaniard has undoubtedly solidified his place among the sport's greatest.
Nadal's retirement not only draws to a close the Spaniards professional tennis career, but the announcement also ended the prolonged era of men's tennis where Nadal and his fellow sportsmen, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic ruled the leaderboard for almost two decades.
What's Next for Nadal?
Alongside Saudi resident, Cristiano Ronaldo, Nadal is a budding restauranteur and backer of high-end, Spanish restaurant Tatel.
With numerous other international locations in Dubai, Beverly Hills, Doha, Ibiza and Madrid, Tatel can be found in Diriyah's exciting dining destination, Bujairi Terrace.
Here, authentic Spanish food collides with traditional Saudi surrounds, serving up flavourful and traditional Spanish dishes with a luxe twist such as truffled Spanish omelette, freshly chopped ceviche in addition to traditional Spanish paella, and rather unsurprisingly, Tatel has a loyal following.
Of course, its highly unlikely that the tennis star will step away from the sport completely, especially as he has recently opened a tennis academy. The Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar is a world-class tennis training centre located in Manacor, on the Spanish island of Mallorca.
Founded by the legendary tennis player Rafael Nadal himself, the academy offers comprehensive training programs for aspiring tennis players of all ages and skill levels. Day-to-day operations and training is led by Toni Nadal, Rafael's uncle and former coach; alongside a professional coaching staff, he provides personalised training based on the individual needs and goals of each player. The academy also boasts world-class facilities, including indoor and outdoor courts, a fitness centre, a swimming pool, and a sports science laboratory.
The Rafa Nadal Academy aims to be more than just a tennis training centre, fostering a strong sense of community and values, emphasising sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal development. The academy's commitment to excellence and its focus on creating well-rounded individuals make it a unique and inspiring destination for young tennis players.
