Your Passport to the World: Al-Khobar and Jeddah come alive with culture and celebration

Your Passport to the World, which honors the customs of four expatriate communities—Sudan, India, the Philippines, and Bangladesh, is currently taking place in Al-Khobar and will follow in Jeddah.

The event is about celebrating community, connection, and identity, aiming to offer an immersive experience and allowing expats to reconnect with their roots, while giving a chance to visitors to spend a weekend traveling between nations, experiencing local cuisine, dancing to local rhythms, and taking in the atmosphere of other countries.

The festival kicks off in Al-Khobar, with each culture taking the spotlight for a few days:

• Sudan: April 9–12

• India: April 16–19

• Philippines: April 23–26

• Bangladesh: April 30–May 3

More than just a day of fun, this festival offers people an opportunity to rediscover their roots, feel at home, or experience cultures they have never encountered.

The event supports multiple goals, including promoting cultural diversity, highlighting the rich traditions of the participating countries, building bridges between residents and visitors, and providing a comprehensive, enjoyable, and educational experience for the whole family.

Through the universal languages of food, art, and music, "Your Passport to the World" celebrates diversity, unites people, and shares stories.

Al-Khobar festivities

For four days, Al-Khobar is transformed into a celebration of Sudanese culture. Held at Al-Khobar Housing Park, the event offers a colorful mix of live music, traditional performances, and cultural experiences that bring the spirit of Sudan to life. The lineup features beloved Sudanese artists like Abu Al-Qasim Wad Doba, Enas Madani, and Jamal Farfour, blending traditional rhythms with a modern twist.

Visitors can also enjoy live heritage dances, striking fashion displays featuring regional fabrics, and of course, a taste of Sudan’s most beloved dishes, from Kisra and Gurasa to Tagaliya. It’s a warm, welcoming experience that showcases the richness of Sudanese culture, and makes for a perfect day out for travelers looking to explore something new.
