Set to open in Dubai next week, Andy Warhol: The Glam Factory will showcase the more than 100 original pieces of incredibly popular works by the iconic artist, Andy Warhol.
Beginning on September 16, and running until October 31, the UAE city will host a dedicated exhibition for the late Andy Warhol.
The exhibition will feature stunning and iconic creations from his works created between 1954 and 1987, the showcase will include the artist's famous repeating Marilyn Monroe portraits, a piece of pop-art that redefined the scene, and the similar rainbow coloured Campbell Soup montage.
Set to be held in The Foundry, a dedicated space for art, culture and community in Downtown Dubai, the exhibition will run for just over six weeks, and will celebrate the artist's originality and influence on contemporary art and culture with over original Warhol 100 artworks on display.
The exhibition will also provide immersive, retro-themed rooms, featuring an interactive Studio 54 experience that is reminiscent of of New York's nightlife in the 1970s.
Andy in AlUla
This isn't Warhol's first debut in the region: in 2023, Saudi's AlUla Arts Commission partnered with the Andy Warhol Foundation to present the "Andy Warhol: FAME." Held in the mirrored Maraya Hall in the ancient destination of AlUla, the exhibition celebrated the theme of fame, an important element of Warhol's life and work, featuring iconic pieces and rare archival photographs.
This AlUla debut was the first time original Warhol pieces had been showcased in the Middle East.

Warhol rose to fame for his bold and provocative works that challenged traditional notions of art and celebrity culture, his silkscreen prints and pop-art style reflected the (perhaps detrimental) impact of consumerism and mass media of the time, and explored themes of fame, and the American Dream.
Almost 37 years after his passing, Warhol's legacy continues to have an impact on modern art and pop culture, making him an enduring creative pioneer and one of the most important artists in 20th-century art.
