Opening on December 5, the Red Sea International Film Festival (RSIFF) is set to once again captivate audiences from across the Kingdom and around the globe.
Announcing its ‘Arab Spectacular’ program, the RSIFF has unveiled a curated selection of five remarkable films from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Algeria. This year’s festival promises to be a celebration of Arab cinema, highlighting the region’s rich cultural heritage and contemporary storytelling.
Running from December 5 through to December 14, the RSIFF is returning to the Red Sea port city of Jeddah for its fourth edition.
Arab Spectacular Program
The ‘Arab Spectacular’ program will showcase a diverse range of films, exploring themes of identity, resilience, and the complexities of modern life. From the heartwarming tale of friendship in “My Driver and I” to the poignant exploration of a Bedouin family's isolation in “Hobal,” each film offers a unique perspective on the Arab world.
One of the highlights of this program, and the festival will be the inclusion of Merzak Allouch's latest film, “Front Row,” which provides a glimpse into the lives of an Algerian family on a day at the beach. Additionally, Saudi cinema will be prominently featured, with three gala screenings showcasing the country's rich cultural past and present.
Antoine Khalife, Director of Arab Programs & Film Classics for the RSIFF said: “We know that our stories and the quality of the way we tell them deserve a place alongside other international films, which is why we are working hard to support and nurture our region’s filmmakers, providing them with a prestigious platform to present their work to international audiences, and facilitating networking opportunities with industry leaders."
