Abdulrahman Al-Qurashi is a gold medal-winning Saudi Arabian athlete.
Coming in first place at finals of the men's 100m T53 wheelchair race, Al-Qurashi secured a gold medal, demonstrating his skills and athletic prowess, demonstrating his world-class abilities.
Adding a coveted gold medal to the Kingdom's medal tally, this is not the Paralympian's first medal, as at the Summer Paralympic Games of 2020 in Toyko, Al-Qurashi took home a bronze medal for his efforts in the same racing category.
Al-Qurashi finished the race with a new personal best of 14.48 seconds.
Coming in second place just behind the Saudi athlete was Thailand's Paeyo Pongsakorn finishing in 14.66 seconds, and Brazilian Ariosvaldo da Silva finished in third place with a time of 15.08 seconds.
Al-Qurashi's first place win at the 2024 Summer Paralympics adds a coveted gold medal to Saudi Arabia's tally from this summer's Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris. However, this is not the first Paralympic medal for the athlete, this event in Paris marked Al-Qurashi's second Paralympic medal. In 2020, at the Toyko Paralympic Games, Al-Qurashi came in third place and secured a bronze medal win in the same event.
