Celebrated as the birthplace of the Kingdom where the First Saudi State was established in 1727, Diriyah is not just a location but a portal to the storied past of Saudi Arabia, now enhanced by the timeless elegance of Bab Samhan.
Bridging past and present

The hotel is meticulously designed to reflect the authentic Najdi architecture of the region, with each element crafted to offer a deeply immersive experience that honors the cultural heritage of Diriyah.
A sanctuary of Saudi heritage
Nestled within a maze of alleyways, Bab Samhan is the first hotel to open in Diriyah, encapsulating the region’s traditional low-contour, mudbrick architecture. The design includes open courtyards and communal spaces, drawing inspiration from the natural landscapes and historical motifs of Najd.
Upon entering through grand Najdi doors, guests embark on a historical journey, greeted with traditional Saudi hospitality and an array of local delicacies in the intimate, lounge-style lobby.
Culinary and cultural exploration
Bab Samhan is not only a stay but an experience, offering guests the chance to indulge in Saudi Arabia’s rich culinary traditions through three distinct restaurants.
The signature restaurant, Jareed, integrates traditional Najd culinary methods with modern techniques, while Taleed by Chef Michael Mina offers a Mediterranean twist using regional flavours. Medheef, the all-day dining venue, features a dramatic open kitchen and serves dishes inspired by global culinary journeys.
Wellness and events
For relaxation and rejuvenation, The Earthen Spa provides organic treatments and wellness experiences, alongside a fully equipped Fitness Centre and guided meditation and yoga sessions. The hotel also boasts flexible event spaces and a 400 square meter ballroom, accommodating up to 250 guests for private events.

Guests at Bab Samhan are invited to delve deeper into the Saudi heritage with guided tours of the nearby UNESCO World Heritage site, At-Turaif, and participate in storytelling sessions, poetry readings, and culinary tours, all designed to forge a profound connection with the local culture.
