On the lush grounds of the capital's famous Nai Lert Park, this newly opened urban sanctuary marks Aman’s long-awaited return to Thailand, where the brand first made its name in 1988, with Amanpuri.
My recent trip to Bangkok marked my first real return to the Thai capital — aside from a handful of airport layovers — since my backpacking days, when six girlfriends and I set off on a six-week whirlwind of adventure, wide-eyed exploration and a well-budgeted cashflow that mainly consisted of calling my Dad once a week. We were convinced we were adults, though in hindsight, we were anything but.
Fast-forward nearly fifteen years, I was excited to re-introduce myself the to city. And this visit felt entirely different: slower, more intentional, and decidedly grown-up. Bangkok, once chaotic and electric, revealed itself through a new lens, one of serenity, sculptural beauty, and quiet sophistication.
This newly-opened city centre high-rise hotel isn’t a nostalgic nod to the past, it’s a bold reimagining of what luxury looks like in 2025, in the heart of Bangkok. With just 52 suites, a two-story spa, and interiors by Jean-Michel Gathy that feel more like a private residence than a hotel, Aman Nai Lert doesn’t compete with the city’s chaos, it transcends it, offering guests a sanctuary of quiet luxury.

Visa free for UAE passport holders (up to 30 days)
In Short:
Aman Nai Lert isn’t just Aman’s first urban outpost in Thailand, it’s a quiet reclamation of space in a city that’s constantly expanding upward and outward. Aman Nai Lert doesn’t compete with Bangkok’s energy, it reframes it. And here, luxury isn’t loud. Instead, it’s layered, deliberate, and deeply personal.
The Location
Found within the century-old grounds of Nai Lert Park in Bangkok's Lumphini district, one of the city’s most prestigious and greenest enclaves. This rare pocket of modern luxury and tranquility sits just off Witthayu Road, placing guests within walking distance of Central Embassy Mall, the city's first gold-clad Dior Cafe and the luxury shopping destination of Siam Paragon.
Despite its serene setting, the hotel is remarkably well-connected: Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK) and Don Mueang Airport (DMK) are both approximately a 45–60 minute drive, depending on traffic. For an additional fee, the concierge team will arrange transport to take away any stress, from the moment you land, until the moment you leave.
The Background
As 36th international Aman property, and just the second destination in Thailand, Aman Nai Lert Bangkok welcomed its firsts guests in April of 2025. This property is one of the brand's newest and most anticipated openings, a city-centre destination that is most definitely an urban retreat—where leafy greenery juxtaposes the angular skyline, and the hum of Bangkok fades into the hush of private gardens and sculptural calm.
With its sleek, high-rise silhouette, the hotel towers above the century-old Nai Lert Park Heritage Home, yet it never overshadows the charm or cultural depth of the manicured parkland below. Instead, the hotel's contemporary architecture feels like a respectful counterpoint, framing rather than competing with the legacy and lush beauty of one of Bangkok’s most storied green spaces.
The Guests & Ambiance
From the moment you step into the ninth-floor lobby, you're enveloped in Aman’s signature serenity, an atmosphere so hushed and refined it feels more like a spa than a hotel. The scent, the lighting, the stillness, it all signals that you’ve entered a different rhythm. Here, international celebrities pass unnoticed, millionaires (and billionaires) move freely, and status quietly dissolves into the stillness. There’s an unspoken understanding: we’re all here to indulge, to retreat, and, in our own way, to disappear.
The lobby features a striking 12-meter brass tree sculpture, inspired by a century-old chamchuri tree in the park. It floats above a reflective pool, blending art and nature in a way that honours the site’s heritage. Even the plaster panels in the atrium bear the enlarged fingerprints of Thanphuying Lursakdi Sampatisiri, the hotel founder’s grandmother, a tribute to the family’s generational stewardship of the land.
Behind the reception desk at Aman Nai Lert Bangkok is a striking art installation composed of 3,000 spinning tops, arranged to form the Thai numeral one, a symbol of greatness and unity in Thai culture. This piece isn’t just visually captivating, it’s deeply symbolic. The spinning tops, a traditional Thai toy, evoke themes of balance, motion, and childhood nostalgia, while their collective formation into a single numeral reflects harmony and shared purpose. It’s a subtle yet powerful nod to Thai heritage, seamlessly woven into Aman’s minimalist aesthetic.
The Rooms
These are not just rooms, Aman Nai Lert Bangkok is a suite-only hotel. Each sweeping suite has been meticulously designed to be a curiously cosy yet spacious space, embracing simplified luxury where time slows, and every detail, from the seamless in-room technology to the artfully crafted room divider is curated to feel personal, effortless, and elevated.
I stayed in the 94-square-metre Premier Suite, where floor-to-ceiling windows framed sweeping views of the city skyline, it was a view that was especially captivating after dark. The open-plan layout unfolds when you enter the suite, with a his-and-hers walk-in wardrobe to the left and a dynamic room divider to the right, subtly separating the spa-inspired bathroom from the main living space. Beyond the walk-in, the suite opens into a spacious living-cum-bedroom with windows stretching the entire length of the suite, and from floor to ceiling meaning the suite is flooded with light, only further highlighting the extensive space within. The bathroom, complete with a free standing, round micro-cement bathtub, his-and-hers sinks and one of the largest rainforest-spa showers I've ever seen in a hotel room.
In today’s digital age, every aspect of the room, from the curtains and lighting to the music, television, and even room service requests, is seamlessly controlled via an iPad tablet placed conveniently beside the bed.
One of the quiet luxuries of a high-end stay is the nightly turndown ritual, complete with a thoughtful gift placed at the edge of the bed. I won’t spoil the surprise, but this is the kind of detail that makes you feel genuinely cared for, and for me, the ultimate insomniac, makes me excited to turn in for the evening.
The Dining
Aman Nai Lert Bangkok offers a curated selection of dining experiences that reflect the brand’s signature elegance and attention to detail. The on-site restaurants span a selection of cuisines from Italian, Thai, Japanese, and contemporary global dining, each housed in beautifully designed spaces that blend seamlessly with the surrounding parkland.
Arva, Aman’s signature Italian restaurant, is placed on the 9th floor, close to the lobby and is accessible to both hotel guests and outside visitors with reservations. It serves seasonal dishes rooted in traditional Italian cooking, with handmade pastas, fresh seafood, and an extensive wine list. Also accessible to visitors and hotel residences is 1872, the all-day dining lounge named after Nai Lert’s birth year, offers Thai and Western comfort food, a very popular afternoon tea experience in a relaxed yet refined setting.
The urban destination's other venues, such as Hiori (teppanyaki), Sesui (omakase), and the ultra-sleek Cigar Lounge, are reserved exclusively for hotel guests, Aman Club members, and residents. These spaces offer more intimate, immersive dining experiences, often with limited seating and chef-led menus. With live music in the evenings, the Aman Lounge, known for its Japanese-inspired small plates and sunset views, also falls within this exclusive category.
While Arva and 1872 provide a taste of Aman’s culinary philosophy to the public, the more private venues are designed to preserve the brand’s ethos of discretion and serenity, offering guests a deeper, more personal connection to the Aman experience.
Spa & Wellness
Aman Nai Lert Bangkok offers one of the city’s most expansive and thoughtfully curated wellness destinations, spanning two entire floors and blending traditional Thai healing with cutting-edge clinical therapies. The immersive wellness experience is divided between the Aman Spa on the 10th floor and the Medical Wellness by Hertitude Clinic on the 8th, each offering distinct approaches to wellbeing.
The Aman Spa is serene space is open to both hotel guests and outside visitors with advance reservations. It features a number of private treatment rooms, including a selection of wellness suites for couples. One of the standout experiences is the Banya Spa House, a first of its kind in Bangkok. Inspired by Eastern European traditions, the Banya includes a wood-clad sauna, steam room, Vichy shower, hot and cold plunge pools, and a lounge area. Therapists perform exfoliating massages using venik—bundles of oak or birch leaves—crafting a deeply restorative experience that echoes the cleansing and rejuvenating traditions of a hammam.
Guests can also take advantage of a state-of-the-art fitness centre that overlooks the lush greenery of Nai Lert Park. Outfitted with top-of-the-line TechnoGym equipment, the space offers a bright, sleek, high-performance environment for everything from strength training to cardio and functional movement. For those, like myself, who prefer a slower form of movement, Aman Nai Lert Bangkok also has a private Pilates studio where a fully-qualified instructor can lead you through private sessions.
On the 8th floor, Medical Wellness by Hertitude Clinic is reserved exclusively for hotel guests, Aman Club members, and residents. It’s a collaboration with Thailand’s leading wellness experts and offers advanced diagnostics and rejuvenation therapies. Facilities on this floor include eight private consultation rooms for small cosmetic procedures such as fillers or anti-aging injections, an IV lounge, a cryotherapy chamber, and a dedicated examination suite.
On the edge of the 9th floor is the outdoor pool, showcasing panoramic views over the lush canopy of Nai Lert Park. Measuring 29 metres in length, it’s designed for both leisurely lounging and tame laps, framed by elegant daybeds and surrounded by tropical foliage that softens the city’s skyline beyond. True to Aman’s design philosophy, the pool feels more like a tranquil extension of the landscape than a hotel amenity, quiet, refined, and deeply restorative. Access is reserved exclusively for hotel guests and Aman Club members, preserving the sense of privacy and calm that defines the property.
The Staff
Discreet and attentive, the staff deliver the level of service one naturally associates with an Aman property, intuitive, and quietly present. As with any newly opened hotel, a few teething issues are to be expected. During our stay, the most noticeable was occasional miscommunication due to limited English proficiency among some team members. That said, any hiccups were minor and handled with genuine warmth, never detracting from the overall experience.
Sustainability
The hotel is uniquely situated within Nai Lert Park, one of Bangkok’s last privately owned green spaces, a seven-acre urban sanctuary that has been carefully protected for over a century. Rather than disrupting the landscape, the hotel was designed to integrate with it. A prime example is the centuries old sompong tree, one of Bangkok’s tallest, which the hotel building was meticulously constructed around. Guests lounging by the pool can see it rising through an elliptical opening, a living symbol of the property’s commitment to preservation.
Accessibility
In terms of physical accessibility, the hotel features elevators and wide corridors suitable for wheelchair users. Given Aman’s reputation for personalised service, guests with specific mobility needs are encouraged to contact the property directly to ensure accommodations are tailored appropriately. For guests with sensory or cognitive needs, Aman’s discreet and attentive staff are known for their flexibility and can likely adapt services to suit individual preferences. I would encourage direct communication with the property for the best way to ensure a smooth and inclusive stay.
How would you describe Aman Nai Lert Bangkok to a friend?
Although you're right in the heart of Bangkok, stepping into Aman Nai Lert feels like entering a hidden sanctuary. The atmosphere is ultra-refined without ever tipping into ostentation, making it the ideal place to retreat into calm. And yet, just beyond its gates, the energy and dynamism of the city await, offering the best of both worlds: stillness within, vibrancy at your doorstep.
