The Location

Jawai Sujan Camp India 2

Simply breathtaking, Suján Jawai is a sanctuary where true luxury is defined by its unique symbiosis with the land and its most majestic inhabitants: a remarkably relaxed leap of leopards. The luxurious and elegant camp is set amidst colossal granite formations, sacred to the local Rabari tribespeople. It is the perfect habitat for the region’s main attraction - a prolific and remarkably relaxed population of leopards.

The Background

Suján Jawai is not a conventional safari camp but a regenerative luxury project born from a family's deep-rooted passion for India's wilderness, following their decades-long conservation work that began in Ranthambhore.

Suján Jawai was established in 2013 by the Jaisal Singh and his wife Anjali, renowned conservationists and descendants of Indian royalty. The camp, a member of Relais & Châteaux, a prestigious international network of independently owned properties, embodies a philosophy of sustainable luxury and respect for nature in line with the region’s leopard conservation programme.

The Guests & The Ambiance

Suján Jawai attracts a wide range of local, regional and international guests, with many discerning travellers, who prioritises exclusivity and transformative experiences choosing the destination camp to see another side of India.. Seasoned globetrotters, multi-generational families or well-travelled couples, who have already experienced classic safaris are all attracted to the camp for deeper, more intimate connections with nature and culture

The Rooms

Jawai Sujan India pool 1

The 10 tented suites at Suján Jawai consisting of eight luxury tents, a family tented suite and a Royal tented suite, embody sustainable sophistication, a high-end set up that redefines the traditional thoughts that "glamping" may conjure.

Featuring canvas walls and well-considered interior design, the tents and their private locations offer a tangible connection to the wilderness outside. Inside, the aesthetic is a blend of classic safari elegance and contemporary Rajasthani artistry, with hand-embroidered textiles, custom-made furniture from reclaimed wood, polished brass fixtures and stand-alone natural stone bathtubs.

All the expected modern amenities that one might expect are included; climate control and WiFi for example. Whilst in the bedrooms king-sized beds overlook the seemingly never-ending wilderness and rocky terrains. However, the highlight is the sweeping private deck and plunge pool, carved into the granite rock, offering uninterrupted views of the dramatic expanse in front. This perfectly placed perch offers guests a front-row seat to nature’s theatre where leopards are often spotted roaming in the distance.

The Dining

From a lavish bush breakfast served on the savanna to elegant, lantern-lit dinners under a celestial canopy, dining at Suján Jawai is based on ‘field-to-fork’ gastronomy that reinterprets Rajputana hunting feasts with modern finesse. The restaurant also uses organic produce from their own gardens and local recipes. Imagine sipping bespoke drinks around a crackling fire, the sounds of the wilderness providing the soundtrack, as chefs present a culinary journey in Rajasthan dishes.

The Experiences

Beyond the thrill of the leopard, the experience is deepened by its cultural access. Guests can visit local Rabari villages for an authentic and respectful insight into a millennia-old way of life, a poignant contrast to the five-star comfort that awaits back at camp.
