Ahmad Al Harthy is Oman’s pioneering professional circuit racing driver and one of the most recognisable Arab athletes competing on the international motorsport stage.
Currently racing with BMW M Team WRT in the FIA World Endurance Championship alongside Valentino Rossi and Kelvin van der Linde, Ahmad represents not only his team but also the Sultanate of Oman through partnerships with the nation’s leading brands.
Across nearly two decades in global competition, Ahmad has earned championship titles and podiums at some of the world’s most iconic circuits, from Monza to Le Mans. His 2024 season featured a landmark victory at Monza and multiple podium finishes across Fuji, Austin, and Jeddah — results that strengthened Oman’s presence in the world of endurance racing and affirmed Ahmad’s status as one of the Middle East’s most successful motorsport figures. Ahmad has even been honoured with a Royal Commendation Medal from His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, one of the highest national distinctions bestowed upon an Omani athlete. This honour symbolises his enduring contribution to national pride and his commitment to excellence both on and off the track.
Beyond motorsport, Ahmad is a passionate ambassador for Omani culture, innovation, and youth development. He has led initiatives connecting education, design, and sport, including collaborations with the Oman Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka and mentorship programmes aimed at preparing the next generation of Omani drivers, engineers, and creatives. Through these efforts, he continues to build meaningful bridges between national identity and international recognition.
