Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has officially expanded its footprint in Saudi Arabia with the opening of Rosewood AMAALA, its first coastal resort in the Kingdom.

Along a untouched stretch of Saudi Arabia’s northwestern coastline, Rosewood AMAALA spans 40 pristine hectares within Triple Bay and is set to offer travellers unprecedented access to an ancient, vibrant marine ecosystem that has remained virtually untouched for centuries. Designed by ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, with rich textural interiors curated by Tristan Auer, the resort feels less like a hotel and more like a hidden seaside sanctuary woven effortlessly into the natural contours of the shore.

Opting for a slow travel experience, life at the resort is paced by daily rituals deeply connected to the environment. As dusk falls, the property observes Sukūn Hour — a collective pause named for the Arabic word for stillness — inviting guests to reset with fragrant Saudi coffee at Wadi Library or intention rituals beneath the open sky. Younger guests embark on their own journeys of discovery at Rosewood Explorers, where reef ecology, environmental storytelling, and hands-on Saudi crafts inspire a deep connection to the natural world.

The Suites, Villas and Lodges

Every line of the resort’s architecture defers to the sea.

The 110 accommodations — ranging from sun-drenched pavilions to sprawling Royal Villas — are oriented directly toward the coastline, seamlessly blurring the boundary between indoor elegance and raw outdoor beauty.

Guests can retreat to Sea View sanctuaries or step directly onto the sand from Sea Front residences. Each accommodation boasting its own sparkling plunge pool, shaded sun terrace, and dedicated butler service, with multi-bedroom options featuring private outdoor barbecue kitchens where personal chefs craft bespoke dinners under the stars.

Tucked quietly within the wellness grounds, three exclusive Asaya Lodges offer multi-day guests a completely secluded, immersive sanctuary complete with private gardens and dedicated treatment suites.

A Therapeutic Wellness Destination

At the heart of the guest experience lies Asaya, a 2,100-square-metre sanctuary conceived as an artist’s retreat for body and soul.

Here, the well-being experience transcends conventional spa treatments, drawing deep inspiration from regional heritage and the therapeutic rhythm of the tides. Guests are invited to engage in tactile, creative practices like traditional Sadu weaving, calligraphy, and sound bath rituals, allowing the act of making to become as restorative as the bodywork that follows. Alongside custom facial sculpting and somatic therapies delivered by master artisans, the complex houses a traditional private hammam, tranquil hydrotherapy suites, and dedicated movement studios for sunrise yoga and aerial practice. For intimate gatherings, the Social House operates as an exclusive day spa, offering families or groups of friends a private sanctuary of their own.

Dining Experiences at Rosewood AMAALA

For seasoned foodies, the culinary offering at Rosewood AMAALA pay homage to centuries of maritime trade, celebrating the movement of flavour, spice, and olive oil across ancient sea routes.

Eight distinct dining destinations tell this rich narrative. At Olea, Mediterranean coastal traditions collide around a magnificent six-meter olive tree that anchors the entrance. Near the centre of the resort, Saha unfolds like a vibrant village square, serving progressive Middle Eastern shared plates designed for lively, lingering conversations. Down by the water’s edge, Puro Cove Club sets a relaxed, sun-soaked rhythm with pristine crudos and ceviches, while The Grill Bar & Restaurant masters the art of live wood-and-charcoal cooking before transforming into an atmospheric evening lounge. In quieter moments, guests gather at Wadi Library to browse regional literature over afternoon tea, or retreat to Asaya Lounge for conscious, botanically driven gastronomy.

A New Beacon of Regenerative Luxury

Underpinning this ethereal luxury is an uncompromising commitment to environmental regeneration.

Operating entirely off the grid, the newly revealed AMAALA is powered by a massive 406,000-panel solar array and one of the world's largest battery storage systems, ensuring clean energy day and night. Onshore transit relies exclusively on quiet electric vehicles, while chemical-free pools and natural rock pool structures allow guests to swim alongside the vibrant marine life of the surrounding barrier reef without altering its delicate balance. Partnering closely with Corallium, the destination's Marine Life Institute, Rosewood AMAALA stands as a testament to how visionary luxury and environmental stewardship can coexist in complete harmony.

Rosewood AMAALA welcomes guests with nightly rates starting from SAR 4000. Seamless arrivals are orchestrated via Red Sea International Airport or Al Wajh International Airport through Red Sea Global Mobility, with options for private aviation, seaplane transfers, or direct yacht arrival at the AMAALA marina.
