Film in Focus: October debut for Saudi Film Confex event

This October, The Saudi Film Commission will present the inaugural Saudi Film Confex event.

This event will showcase a variety of presentations that promote the social, cultural, and financial advantages of cinema and movie theatres; while bringing together business leaders and investors from around the world.

The Saudi Film Commission was created in 2020 to assist and support the Saudi film industry both locally and globally. Supporting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 plan, the commission aims to diversify the Kingdom's economy by facilitating in the production of movies here, and through organising and hosting film festivals and events, and providing the necessary resources for filmmakers.

It is hoped that the Saudi Film Confex will bring regional, local, and international business leaders to display their most recent services and developments in the film industry. It will also showcase the most recent projects and innovations related to the film industry in Saudi Arabia, and around the world.

Visitors will get to see cutting-edge solutions for production, post-production, distribution, and many options that foster development and innovation in the movie industry.

Over the course of several days, the Saudi Film Confex will comprise of both an exhibition and conference, in addition, there will be several different interactive zones where workshops will be held, alongside dedicated inspirational, innovative, experiential, and business zones.

Additionally, an interactive film zone, and a destination gallery in collaboration with Royal Commissions and Saudi provinces to identify potential shooting locations in the Kingdom.

Several conferences and discussions will take place between October 1 - 2, and these discussions will cover several topics including 'Present and Future Trends in the Film Industry', 'Local and International Practices in the Film Industry' and 'Challenges and Opportunities in the Film Industry in the Region'. Whilst some hands-on workshops will take place between October 2 - 4.
