Riyadh will host the world's largest light festival once again
The art and light festival, Noor Riyadh, has been confirmed to return to the city in November

Festival of Light: Noor Riyadh 2023
In English, the Arabic word 'noor' translates to 'light' or 'divine light'.
Originally launched in November of 2021, Noor Riyadh, has become an annual art and light exhibition and festival, this winter the Kingdom's capital will light up once again with light projections and artistic light inspired installations.
Usually this celebration runs over the course of two weeks in November, showcasing light shows, artistic installations and unique and photogenic projections around the city. Presented by Riyadh Art, the festival aims to support local talent and inspire Saudi Arabia's creative economy.
The 2022 festival edition presented more than 190 artworks by over 130 artists, including 44 local creatives from Saudi Arabia. These artworks included public exhibits and installations, light projections, and various displays across the city, in various 'hubs' including King Abdullah Park, KAFD and the Diplomatic Quarter.
Each festival is given a theme, and in 2022, Noor Riyadh launched under the theme of 'We Dream of New Horizons’. The Noor program also features tours, talks, workshops, family activities, and music.
Although we await the announcement of the official theme for Noor Riyadh 2023 edition, we know some details about this year's festival.
The artworks for this the 2023 edition have been carefully selected, appraised and chosen by a team of curators, and this year will feature both the general exhibits and installations of the festival, alongside a contemporary exhibition.
Noor Riyadh 2023, the Largest Light Art Festival in the World, returns this November. This edition’s artworks will be selected by the lead festival curator Jérôme Sans alongside a team of festival curators including, Pedro Alonzo, Alaa Tarabzouni, and Fahad bin Naif.
The Noor Riyadh 2023 Festival will also feature a Contemporary Light Art Exhibition. This exhibit will showcases artworks chosen by lead exhibition curator, Neville Wakefield, in collaboration with fellow exhibition curator, Maya Al Athel.
