The curation team for the second edition of the Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale (DCAB) has been announced.

Scheduled to span three months, the 2024 edition of DCAB will encompass freshly commissioned art and architectural ventures alongside existing artworks and research projects. Additionally, a vibrant program of live performances, concerts, and poetry readings is also expected to be featured throughout the biennale.

As announced earlier in 2023, the biennale will be showcased under the leadership of Ute Meta Bauer, as the artistic director. And, just this week the entirety of the team was announced.

The curation team is comprised of various artists and curation experts including Wejdan Reda, who is both the curator and co-curator for Diriyah Biennale Foundation, and DCAB, 2024; Rahul Gudipudi will act as adjunct curator alongside co-curators, Rose Lejeune and Anca Rujoiu.

The curatorial team will also work with Ana Salazar, Amina Diab, Dian Arumningtyas and Alanood AlSudairi.

In anticipation of the 2024 DCAB, Bauer and the curatorial team embarked on a number of journeys to different regions of Saudi Arabia to study the country's cultural landscape and establish connections with up-coming, newly discovered and established Saudi artists from various generations. The team visited cities such as Dammam, Khobar, Al-hasaa, Riyadh, Jeddah, Khamis Mushait, Abha, and Rijaal Almaa.

‎‏This year’s team are set to bring a new and immersive art experience to life, with a unique blend of contemporary art, performance, sound, research, and digital art.
