Saudi chosen to host international equestrian event this weekend

Although the Peninsula Horses World Championship Festival has been a popular event on the calendar of many studs, stables and those with equestrian interests, the Kingdom will host the event for the first time.

From Wednesday, October 11 to Saturday, October 14, the exquisite Nofa Riyadh, A Radisson Collection Resort will play host to the prestigious event. Under the stewardship of the King Abdulaziz Arabian Horse Centre, this will be a four-day equestrian extravaganza featuring two major competitions.

Not only is this the first time the nation will host this four-day festival, this is the first year that the event will take place outside the festival's founding nation of Italy.

The festival will pivot around these two competitions: the first event will be the Munifah Saudi Origin Championship (Oct 11), and in the second event, jockeys will race against each other at the Straight Egyptian World Championship (Oct 12 - 14). This will be the tenth edition of the prestigious event, that previously found its home in Italy and has now been brought to the Kingdom in all its grandeur.

The Peninsula Horses World Championship Festival has an array of exciting and interconnected activities on the agenda. From a captivating free show and an exploration of Arabian knight culture to engaging exhibitions highlighting visual and photography arts, a sprinkle of fashion, alongside what are set to be some thrilling auctions for both horses and artwork, meaning there should be something for everyone.

Additionally, the event will feature displays from foreign and local organisations, all topped off with an enchanting international operatic performance. What's more, this gathering will see the participation of equestrian experts and enthusiasts from top international stables worldwide, making it a global celebration of all things horse-related.
