The annual Yanbu Flower and Garden Festival begins this week.

Sitting on the western edge of the Kingdom on the shores of the Red Sea, Yanbu is traditionally a port city and serves as the local port area for nearby Madinah. Known for its sandy beaches, expansive coral diving sites and lush green parks, Yanbu is a popular destination with locals (and tourists) for relaxed beach days or walks along the corniche.

However for the next three weeks, Yanbu Industrial City will become the location of the largest open-air flower garden in the Kingdom.

In previous years, the flower festival has been awarded a number of prizes, including being recognised by the Guinness World Records as having the largest flower carpet in the world. This year the festival has a number of new records in its sights, and announcements are expected to be revealed soon.

Alongside a jaw-dropping displays of floral design, gardens and large-scale arrangements, the Yanbu Flower and Garden Festival will make for the perfect family day out with a number of activities and events. These events will include a program of performances and interactive entertainment stations, complemented by various pavilions exhibiting flower arrangements, items for home garden planting and even bird and butterfly gardens and a strawberry gardens.

Additionally, the festival will also feature a recycling area — an annual sustainability initiative aimed at fostering a culture of reuse and recycling.
