The world's only Karl Lagerfeld Hotel opens in Macau

Hotels and residences linked with famous luxury designers have become something of a trend of late, examples include Palazzo Versace, the Armani Hotels, the Bulgari Hotels and Salvatore Ferragamo's link to Continentale in Florence.

One the newest hotels in Macau opened in just this month in June, and is one just a few hotels where the designer had hands-on and in-depth involvement in design of the hotel.

Prior to his death in 2019, Karl Lagerfeld of Chanel and Fendi fame was directly involved in the development and selection of the hotel's interiors and soft furnishings.

Named after the designer The Karl Lagerfeld, Macau sports the designers shadowed profile as its emblem, displayed throughout the hotel: above the reception area and in various art works showcased in the hotel.

As the world's first and only hotel entirely designed by and named after the late fashion legend,
the designer's imaginative, inimitable style and ethos are infused into its very DNA, from its architectural elements to the specially commissioned furniture and art.

Set to be designer's first and only eponymous luxury hotel; featuring unique features representing the designer's individualistic rock-inspired aesthetics. The hotel includes 271 rooms, an exceptional gym and spa and a pool area adorned with mosaic murals and gold accents.

The lobby lounge is reminiscent of the designer's home library, and is aptly named The Book Lounge and offers an extensive selection of international teas and an array of aesthetically pleasing desserts and pastries, to enjoy in the Parisian-Chinoiserie chic surrounds of black, white and red accents.

Discover ornate and intricate opulence at Mesa by José Avillez, the hotel's signature restaurant.
