It was announced this week that Hilton would be expanding its reach within Saudi Arabia further, with President and CEO of the Hilton Group, Chris Nassetta, confirming Hilton will quadruple their standing.

The internationally renowned hotel chain aims to introduce more of its acclaimed brands in emerging tourism spots, as well as in major cities and regional areas throughout the country.

Although full details on where these new hotels will be located are yet to be confirmed, the hospitality chain has said that Al Ahsa will be home to three distinct properties: an eco-resort, an agri-resort, and an adventure resort.

This news accompanies a number of upcoming openings that will include the Kingdom's inaugural Hampton by Hilton (an 8,200 square metre destination slated to open in NEOM) and more Curio Collection by Hilton properties to accompany the The Hotel Galleria Jeddah which is already part of the Curio Collection. These destinations will be delivered alongside a second Hilton destination in Riyadh: Hilton Riyadh Olaya slated to open on June 1, 2024.

Hilton's newly announced expansion plans were welcomed by the Ministry of Tourism, Ahmed Al Khateeb, as Hilton confirmed that over 60 new hotels will open in the coming years across various destinations in Kingdom.

Al Khateeb emphasised the significance of this expansion in the Kingdom, noting that this commitment by the Hilton Group will lend itself to the nation's plans for enhancing its tourism infrastructure and attracting global investors. This expansion aligns with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which aims to increase the number of hotel rooms in Saudi Arabia to 550,000 by 2030 whilst also presenting lucrative opportunities for private sector investment in the kingdom's tourism recovery efforts.
