Saudia announces 25 brand-new air routes for 2023

From Beijing to Johannesburg and beyond, a whole host of locations are now available to sunseekers and travel enthusiasts

It is an exciting time for Saudi’s aviation industry, with the announcement of two new airlines alongside more than twenty brand-new air routes connecting the Kingdom with the world.

Saudia, formally known as Saudi Arabian Airlines, was founded in 1945 and to this day, remains a stalwart organisation in the Kingdom’s aviation industry. With encouraging local and international tourism to the region at the forefront of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 project, it is no surprise that Saudia plays a significant role in this encouraging this momentum.

Early in March 2023, Saudia announced that the airline will now service 25 new destinations in 2023, including Beijing, London (Gatwick), Nice, Lisbon, Mykonos, Rhodes and Johannesburg, South Africa. Regional offerings will also be expanded through Saudi’s regional subsidiary, Flyadeal.

As the national airline of Saudi Arabia, Saudia is working towards introducing new routes and Saudia Group CEO, HE Engineer Ibrahim Al-Omar said: “Saudia Group has been carrying the kingdom’s ambitions, values and traditions across every corner of its network, as it flies the nation's flag around the world. These new destinations will offer greater access and choices to our guests. Given the increase of demand in international travel, this is the right time to expand our global network in new, exciting ways.

Saudia also recently launched "Your Ticket Your Visa", an expedited visa programme that allows passengers to book their flight and stopover for up to 96 hours with a free stay for one day.
