A unique and elevated fine dining experience, where diners are served a nine-course tasting menu as they are seated in the wicker basket of a hot air balloon.
The Feast on Cloud 9 dining experience at luxury country house hotel, The Grove, nestled in the heart of Hertfordshire in the British Midlands, will run only until September 3.
The specially designed and created menu will have your tastebuds floating in pure bliss – without having to leave the ground. The seating has been specially hand-made for the occasion, and consists of just fourteen tables inspired by vintage hot air balloons: the seating and table sits inside the wicker basket and is topped with a red and white striped 'hot air' balloon.
Diners can enjoy an unending tasting feast of nine courses or a decadent afternoon tea in this whimsical setting on the pristine lawns of The Grove's Formal Garden, with the sounds of the water feature dancing in the background.
Guests will be treated to a menu designed using locally sourced produce, as ingredients freshly picked from the onsite vegetable and herb garden, known as Jemima’s Kitchen Garden.
Dishes on the nine-course tasting menu include a tart of Cornish crab and Exmoor caviar, a summer vegetable terrine with a side of tarragon emulsion, Rossini-style fillet of beef served with truffle mash potato and for dessert a lemon marmalade mousse with a chocolate shell.
Guests can expect the unexpected, as dishes are served with "...creative twists to the presentation of each course, including the iconic lobster en-croute carved at the table, and of course, Feast’s edible ‘clouds’."
The afternoon tea includes an array of finger sandwiches, alongside special tasters of a smoked salmon Scotch egg and a cheese and onion tartlet. Of course, afternoon tea wouldn't be afternoon tea without a selection teas and coffees, and a side of freshly baked scones served warm with jam and clotted cream.
