In the heart of Aseer Region, the Ramadan markets of Abha are a tapestry of community life and trade. These markets, especially popular in the Al-Mashhad neighborhood are great shopping destinations, but they are also bustling hubs of social interaction and cultural exchange that come alive every Ramadan.
Ahmed Asiri, a local resident, told the Saudi Press Agency that these markets have grown in both size and popularity, becoming a highlight of the year in Abha. From after Asr prayer until iftar, the streets are lined with vendors offering everything from sumptuous local delicacies to handcrafted goods, illustrating the rich, entrepreneurial spirit of the local community.
Aseer Region is adorned with dozens of these markets spread across its governorates, and each municipality has dedicated teams to oversee the quality of goods sold and the smooth operation of the markets.
The charm of the Ramadan markets in Abha lies not only in their commercial allure but also in their role as social venues. Mirroring the lively weekly markets that operate year-round, these Ramadan versions transform into spirited gatherings. Here, friends meet, families bond, and the community engages in the joyful preparations for iftar, making these markets a cultural cornerstone of Ramadan in Abha.
