Jeddah’s historic core has always been a meeting place of trade routes, architecture, and stories. Now, it’s home to something new: a curated collection of international sculptures dotted along the shores of Lake Al-Arbaeen. The open-air exhibition transforms this heritage district into a cultural promenade, blending global artistic perspectives with local identity.

A collaboration between Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Culture and the Jeddah Municipality, the initiative brings 14 large-scale works to one of the city's most atmospheric neighborhoods. The exhibition reimagines it as a platform for engagement, where residents and visitors alike are invited to pause, reflect and connect with art and their surroundings.

Among the standout pieces are “The Illusion of the Second Cube” by optical art pioneer Victor Vasarely, “Rouge” and “Flexibility of Balance” by kinetic master Alexander Calder, and “The Bird” by surrealist sculptor Joan Miró. Italian sculptor Arnaldo Pomodoro’s “Circular Mass” also joins the mix, along with “Giving and Receiving Love” by Lorenzo Quinn, a powerful work that visualizes human connection through oversized, interlocking aluminum hands.

Each sculpture holds its own against the backdrop of Jeddah’s old town, forming a quiet but compelling dialogue between the city’s layered past and its rapidly evolving present. For art lovers, it’s a rare opportunity to experience iconic works outside of gallery walls.
