The International Fair and Museum of the Prophet’s Biography and Islamic Civilization in Madinah just got a tech-forward upgrade. A brand new pavilion and immersive digital platform were inaugurated this week by Prince Salman bin Sultan, Governor of Madinah, alongside Dr. Mohammad Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League and the museum’s supervisor-general.
The pavilion offers a sweeping look at Madinah’s history during the time of the Prophet Muhammad. It’s divided into more than 20 curated sections showcasing everything from architectural models to cultural artefacts; a full simulation of the Prophet’s Mosque being built, a re-creation of the Prophet’s Chamber, and even an exhibit on Prophetic medicine. There’s also an installation dedicated to the Prophet’s daily life, offering visitors a rare glimpse into both the personal and the profound.
Alongside the pavilion, the museum has introduced Ithaf, a digital platform that brings the Prophet’s story to life with interactive virtual tours. It’s available in multiple languages and comes with access to a vast library of over 350 books and encyclopedias focused on the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah. Ithaf is designed to make the museum’s wealth of knowledge more accessible to both local and international audiences—especially those unable to visit in person.
During the inauguration, Prince Salman also toured a separate exhibit dedicated to Saudi Arabia’s broader efforts to serve the Holy Qur’an, Sunnah, and the Two Holy Mosques. The pavilion showcases the Kingdom’s initiatives in preserving and sharing the message of Islam through education, outreach, and heritage conservation.
The museum’s expansion is part of a wider push to blend cutting-edge tech with cultural preservation, anchoring Madinah as a destination for both spiritual reflection and historical exploration.
