Set within the historic walls of Diriyah, this unique festival provides a platform to explore the region's rich cultural tapestry: and this year's theme is "Shaping the Future: Where Tradition Meets Innovation."

Within the historic embrace of Diriyah, the birthplace of the Saudi state, the Tyn Festival is unfolding. Here, visitors can witness the artistry of local craftsmen firsthand, observing the delicate dance of hands shaping mud-brick, the rhythmic rhythm of woodcarving, and the intricate artistry of plasterwork.

Visitors can immerse themselves in a series of engaging workshops, where skilled artisans share their expertise in traditional crafts such as mud-brick construction, intricate woodwork, and delicate plasterwork. Thought-provoking exhibitions showcase the evolution of Najdi architecture, from ancient mud-brick fortresses to contemporary interpretations of traditional building techniques.

Traditional Mud Building Sessions

Both the old and young will be captivated by these live demonstrations of traditional mud-brick construction techniques. Skilled artisans will skilfully shape and mould the mud, offering a fascinating glimpse into the historical significance and environmental advantages of this sustainable building method.

Fireside Chats with Impactful Leaders

Throughout the Tyn Festival, each week a new series of discussion points and panels are unveiled, from the preservation of traditional artisanal building techniques, to role of architectural narratives in ancient and modern construction and the traditional ornamentations found in Najdi dwellings.

Networking Opportunities

The Najdi Networking Courtyard reimagines traditional gathering places, offering a vibrant space for dialogue and connection. Every aspect of Prince Nasser Palace is designed to spark curiosity, inspire discovery, and deepen connections to cultural heritage.

Architectural Tour

Led by knowledgeable guide, visitors will be able to join one of three weekly tours taking place. The tours will pivot on the architectural and structural aspects of the area's traditional mud-brick buildings. 

Immersive Exhibition

This exhibition - Diriyah Through the Lens of the Architect Hassan Fathy 1965 - offers visitors a rare opportunity to discover the beauty and secrets of traditional architecture through the lens of Hassan Fathy (1800-1989), a pioneer of environmental architecture. Fathy's innovative vision, which reimagined mud as a vital and sustainable building material, is brought to life through a series of stunning photographs documenting his journey in Saudi Arabia.

At the heart of Diriyah Season lies a commitment to showcasing the Kingdom's unique identity and fostering a sense of national pride. From immersive historical exhibitions, immersive entertainment and captivating cultural performances to world-class dining and other exciting, and family-friendly events, Diriyah Season offers something for everyone.  

Taking place annually from December right through until March, Diriyah Season is a celebration of tradition, culture and heritage, and takes place surrounding one of the Kingdom's much loved and most-visited UNESCO Heritage Sites.
