Opened on September 20, and running until December 15, Art Here 2024 has created a global stage for up-and-coming contemporary artists from the Middle East and North Africa to present their creations - with a grand prize of $60,000 up for grabs.

This year's theme, Awakenings, invites artists to explore concepts of self-discovery, cultural renewal, and the ever-evolving artistic landscape. The exhibition offers a unique platform for emerging talents to showcase their work to a global audience. The Art Here 2024 exhibition’s theme explores three key concepts reflected in Louvre Abu Dhabi’s three official languages: awakenings (in English), overtures (openings in French) and آفاق (horizons in Arabic).

A panel of renowned art experts, including Jean-François Charnier, Hammad Nasar, Shilpa Gupta, and Sam Bardaouil & Till Fellrath, will select the five standout artists whose works will be featured in the exhibition.

Five Showcasing Artists

Art Here 2024 showcases a diverse range of contemporary artworks that explore themes of self-discovery, cultural renewal, and the fluidity of time.

Featured artists include Férielle Doulain-Zouari's 'Tilling the Soil,' Lamya Gargash's 'Debutante Ball,' Moataz Nasr's 'The Brides of the Sky,' and Nicène Kossentini's 'Landscapes.' These works offer unique perspectives on identity, history, and the environment, inviting viewers to contemplate the intricate layers of human experience.

The selected artists will have the opportunity to compete for the Richard Mille Art Prize, a prestigious award that comes with a generous cash prize of $60,000. This recognition will undoubtedly propel their artistic careers to new heights. The jury received over 200 submissions from artists across the participating regions, of which these five artists and their artworks were selected to be shortlisted and showcased at the Louvre Abu Dhabi.

Offering unique perspectives on the themes pivoting on time and perception, with their creations and art pieces transforming the symbolic dome of the Louvre Abu Dhabi into a captivating space. Their works invite viewers to explore the fluidity of time and the intricate layers of awareness within the artistic narrative.
