March 11: Saudi Flag Day
Saudi Flag Day, observed annually on March 11, serves as a solemn tribute to the national standard that has represented the Kingdom’s sovereignty and spiritual heart for nearly three centuries. Officially established by Royal Decree in 2023, the date commemorates the day in 1937 when King Abdulaziz Al Saud gave his formal approval to the flag’s specific design as it is recognised globally today. The vibrant green field represents the prosperity and growth of the land, while the white Thuluth script of the Shahada declares the nation’s foundational Islamic faith. Beneath this, the horizontal sword stands as a testament to justice, strength, and the defence of the state's dignity. Uniquely, due to the sacred nature of the religious testimony inscribed upon it.
March 14 & 15: Meet the Butterflies at FoodSphere
Over two days this March, Riyadh's FoodSphere invites you to explore, discover and enjoy the Butterfly Dome. The BioSphere offers a magical, interactive experience designed to immerse visitors in the fascinating world of butterflies.
