Billboard Arabia embraces the region's love of music, and in a collaboration between SRMG and Billboard, the international music and entertainment brand has unveiled its regional website and signature charts.
This marks a significant milestone in the evolution of the Arab music scene.
Emphasising the metamorphosis within the industry, Billboard Arabia stands poised to champion Arab artists, offering them a platform to propel their narratives, music and creative careers to a global audience.
Aligning with SRMG's strategy of catering to audience preferences and nurturing emerging talent in the MENA region, this launch underscores the Group's commitment to empowering content creators across the Arab world, projecting their work onto an international platform.
This momentous launch arrives amid the MENA region's ascension as one of the world's fastest-growing music hubs, a fact underscored by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry. Forecasted to surge to $670 million by 2027, the region's music industry is buoyed by its rich pool of talent, with Saudi Arabia spearheading this growth as a pivotal music market in the Middle East.
The newly inaugurated website is set to be a prime destination for music enthusiasts, offering a comprehensive experience to explore Arab artists and their music. With in-depth reviews of the latest releases, exclusive artist interviews, event coverage, original photography, and curated video content, Billboard Arabia aims to curate an immersive platform that transcends time – celebrating the heritage, spotlighting the contemporary, and fostering future inspirations. The website will also feature digital cover stories dedicated to music legends and emerging stars, showcasing the vibrant diversity of the Arab music landscape.
At the core of Billboard Arabia's launch are its two global flagship charts – the Billboard Arabia Artist 100 and the Billboard Arabia Hot 100 for Arabic music. The Hot 100 chart features the most-streamed Arabic songs, boasting tracks like Sherine Abdel Wahab's “Kalam Eneih” and Al Shami's “Ya Leil W Yal Ein” among the top spots, while the Artist 100 ranks the most popular Arab artists, including ElGrandeToto and Marwan Pablo, reflecting the pulse of the Arab music industry. These weekly charts will be unveiled on the Billboard Arabia website and social media platforms every Thursday, providing a comprehensive snapshot of Arab music's global reach.

Leveraging the Billboard brand's rich legacy of chart compilation that spans over eight decades, Billboard Arabia's charts are carefully crafted following established parameters, drawing data from major digital streaming platforms like Spotify, Anghami, YouTube, and Apple Music, and offer a holistic view of Arab music preferences worldwide.
Looking ahead to early 2024, Billboard Arabia plans to introduce eight genre-specific charts, highlighting the diverse facets of Arab music, encompassing genres like Khaleeji, Egyptian, Magharabi, Levant, Arabic HipHop, Arabic Indie, Shelat, and Mahraganat.
The weekly charts aim to provide structure to the Arab music industry, serving as a pivotal platform for both established and emerging artists, facilitating their access to wider regional and global audiences. This initiative marks a defining moment for the Arab music community, offering well-defined genres, recognition for its artists, and a pivotal reference point – all reflecting the preferences and choices of devoted fans.
