Cirque du Liban’s Pluma will light up Riyadh's Al Nahkeel Mall from September 18 through to 27, bringing a spectacular performance that promises thrills for the whole family.
Pluma is a visually stunning and emotionally resonant circus-inspired showcase. The show's name Pluma, meaning “feather” in Latin, captures the live production's theme of flight and self-discovery. At its heart is Pluma, a young girl with a dream of flight. Her name, derived from the Latin word for “feather,” sets the tone for a story that’s light, ethereal, and full of wonder. As Pluma is swept into a fantastical realm, she encounters magical beings who share ancient secrets of flight, guiding her on a journey of self-discovery, empowerment and breathtaking artistry.
The show unfolds under a grand big top, where gravity-defying aerialists, daring motorcyclists, acrobats, and clowns perform against a backdrop of immersive music, strobe lighting, and elaborate costumes. It’s a sensory feast that the entire family will enjoy: equal parts spectacle and storytelling.
The choreography is tight, the visuals are jaw-dropping, and the emotional arc is clear: this is a tale about transformation, courage, and the magic of believing in the impossible.
Pluma isn’t just a circus, it’s a theatrical escape into a world where dreams take flight and the extraordinary becomes reality. Both children and adults can expect to be amazed with dazzling acrobatics, death-defying stunts, immersive 3D projections, and a reimagining of classic circus elements, all under a giant chapiteau at Al Nahkeel Mall.
In August, 2024, Cirque du Liban previously wowed Saudi Arbian audiences with Fontana, the Middle East’s first travelling water circus. This show toured Dubai, Lebanon, and Saudi Arabia. With Pluma, they return with a tailor-made Aquatic Theatre experience that raises the bar.
