Riyadh Season 2024 has set a new benchmark in the realm of global entertainment festivals by attracting an unprecedented 16 million visitors since it opened in October.

This year’s Riyadh Season outdid itself with a kaleidoscope of offerings that ranged from international boxing and wrestling matches to world-class concerts and unique dining experiences. New thematic areas like Courcheval brought the splendor of skiing in the Swiss Alps to Riyadh, while Boulevard Runway attracted aviation aficionados, amplifying the festival's appeal during the mid-term break of the second semester.

In 2024, Riyadh Season featured 14 unique entertainment zones offering distinct experiences for visitors.  From Missy Elliot concerts to Mike Tyson's Boxing Academy, the 6 Kings Slam tennis event and Martin Lawrence's standup show, the year was packed with new events; and there's more to come in 2025.

The Riyadh Season Boxing World Cup

In a move that underscores Riyadh Season’s commitment to expanding its horizons, a new boxing event has been announced for 2025. The Riyadh Season Boxing World Cup, unveiled at the WBC Hamburg Annual Convention, promises to be a landmark event in the world of boxing. This initiative not only supports local and international boxing talent but also aims to nurture the next generation of champions on a global stage.

The World Boxing Council, in collaboration with Riyadh Season, will organize the tournament, featuring bouts across four weight divisions: Featherweight, Super Lightweight, Middleweight, and Heavyweight. With 128 boxers from around the world competing in a series of five events, the tournament will culminate in a ten-round championship final, celebrating the sport’s rich legacy and its bright future.

The Riyadh Season Boxing World Cup exemplifies the Kingdom's broader goals to foster a thriving sporting environment within Saudi Arabia. Turki AlalShikh, also named Boxing's Man of the Year by the WBC, emphasized the Kingdom’s dedication to revitalizing boxing, aspiring to return the sport to its golden era by hosting exciting and high-caliber fights.

Beyond entertainment: A cultural phenomenon

Riyadh Season’s integration of high-profile boxing matches, such as the notable bouts between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou, and between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol, has not only heightened the festival's international appeal but has also played a role in promoting sports development in the region. By bringing world-class events to Saudi soil and abroad, Riyadh Season is making an impact on the global entertainment and sports industry.

As Riyadh Season continues to grow and diversify its offerings, it cements its position as a leading destination for arts, culture, and sports, capturing the imagination of millions and contributing to Saudi Arabia’s cultural renaissance under Vision 2030.
