Jeddah is once again set to become the global capital of cue sports as it hosts the 2025 World Pool Championship from July 21 - 26 at the iconic Green Halls.
Organised in partnership with Matchroom, and the Saudi Billiards and Snooker Federation, this year’s event promises to be the biggest and most competitive edition yet.
The tournament will feature the top 128 nine-ball players from around the world, including defending champion Fedor Gorst, Spain’s Francisco Sánchez Ruiz, and American legend Shane Van Boening. With a record-breaking prize pot of an impressive $1 million, the stakes are higher than ever as players battle for one of the most prestigious titles in professional pool.
The event kicks off with qualifiers from July 21 to 24, followed by the quarterfinals on Friday, July 25, and the grand finale on Saturday, July 26. Pool fans can expect a selection of thrilling matchups, dramatic comebacks, and world-class performances throughout the week.
In a continued effort to grow the sport locally, 16 Saudi players have been granted wild card entries, giving them the opportunity to compete on the world stage. Running alongside the main event is the Saudi Junior Championship, a grassroots initiative aimed at nurturing the next generation of pool talent in the Kingdom.
The World Pool Championship is part of Jeddah Season, a broader cultural and entertainment initiative under Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to position the Kingdom as a global hub for sports and tourism. The tournament will be broadcast globally, with over 100 hours of live streaming and 50 hours of TV coverage, ensuring fans around the world can follow the action.
