Space related events have been taking place all year, as part of the celebrations for the ESA Living Planet Symposium with several notable experience already making headlines.

For example on May 31, in a one-of-a-kind cultural tribute, ESA joined forces with the Vienna Tourist Board to broadcast a live performance of Johann Strauss II’s The Blue Danube into space. The WALTZ INTO SPACE concert was simultaneously streamed to audiences at Strandbar Herrmann in Vienna, the Madrid Planetarium, and Bryant Park in New York City, connecting listeners across the world and beyond. The event marked a double celebration: ESA’s 50th anniversary and the 200th birthday of the King of Waltz Johann Strauss II. You can watch the full concert right here.
