Wembley Stadium, one of the most iconic sporting venues in the world, underwent a significant transformation to host the Riyadh Season Card event featuring Anthony Joshua vs. Daniel Dubois.
Both Joshua and Dubois are no strangers to the high-octane Riyadh Season sporting events. During the 2023 season, both professional athletes fought in arranged matches in the Kingdom's capital.
The stadium's interior was transformed from the regular, day-to-day football stadium to a massive boxing arena - large enough to hold more than 98,128 fans. Alongside the covering of the grass pitch, and the placement of the boxing ring, the transformation of Wembley Stadium also included the installation of large screens and world-class sound systems to ensure that the audience could enjoy the action and commentary from every seat in the stadium.
Fans watched as American Daniel Dubois retained his IBF Heavyweight World Champion title and shockingly took down World Champion and Olympian Joshua Anthony, on home-soil, in just five rounds.
This London-based Riyadh Season Card event showcased the ambition and scale of Saudi Arabia's efforts to bring world-class entertainment to a global audience. Transformed in no small part by His Excellency Turki Alalsheikh, Chairman of the Saudi General Entertainment Authority (GEA), the reach of Riyadh Season has now evolved beyond a city-wide celebration, with Riyadh Season branded events now having taken place both London and Los Angeles.
