Equinox has officially arrived in Saudi Arabia.

Announced by Red Sea Global on September 3, Equinox Resort AMAALA has opened at Marina Village in Triple Bay. The new resort marks the brand’s second hotel worldwide and its first property outside the United States.

Located on Saudi Arabia’s northwestern Red Sea coast, the resort forms part of AMAALA, Red Sea Global’s luxury destination that is heavily focused on wellness, sport, culture and lifestyle. The opening follows the arrival of AMAALA’s first guests earlier this summer, with Four Seasons Resort and Residences AMAALA becoming the destination’s first operational resort in June 2026, followed by the opening of Six Senses AMAALA in July 2026.

A new Equinox address

Equinox AMAALA Red Sea

First announced in 2023 as part of Red Sea Global’s vision for Marina Village, Equinox Resort AMAALA is a 128-key sanctuary that includes two penthouses, a beach club, curated dining, and a signature magnesium salt rooftop pool. Blending Equinox’s performance-driven ethos with restorative wellness, the resort is engineered around exercise, target nutrition, and full-body regeneration.

The newly opened resort comprises 128 rooms and suites across six accommodation categories, including two penthouse suites, alongside 21 branded residences. The resorts's architecture has been designed by Foster + Partners, whilst the wellness and relaxation-inspired interiors and ambiance was developed by Rockwell Group. The design takes cues from the surrounding landscape, drawing inspiration from the Red Sea coastline, its marine environment and the mountains surrounding AMAALA. The resort is located within Marina Village in Triple Bay, giving guests access to the wider destination and views towards the surrounding coastal landscape.

Fitness at the centre of the experience

Fitness is central to the Equinox experience, and the AMAALA property features 704 square metres of indoor and outdoor training space, making it the largest fitness facility within AMAALA, according to Red Sea Global. The resort brings Equinox’s approach to movement, nutrition, recovery and community to the Red Sea coast. Its wellness offering is designed around physical performance and recovery rather than a traditional spa-only model. The property also features four outdoor swimming pools. These include a lap pool, leisure pools and a rooftop magnesium salt pool overlooking Triple Bay, AMAALA Marina and the AMAALA Yacht Club.

The spa and Equinox X Circuit

The resort’s 1,602-square-metre spa is built around the Equinox X Circuit, a seven-stage regeneration experience combining technology with personalised treatments. Facilities and treatments include cryotherapy, infrared sauna, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, hydrotherapy and contrast-temperature therapies. The spa is designed to complement the resort’s wider emphasis on recovery and physical wellbeing. Wellness also extends into the guest rooms, so that the experience is fully immersive. According to Red Sea Global, the accommodation has been designed around Equinox Hotels’ sleep-science platform, with circadian lighting intended to support the body’s internal clock, acoustic isolation to minimise sleep disruption and precision climate control designed to support rest.

Dining at Equinox AMAALA

The resort has four dining concepts: Mint + Co, Soho Souk, Sama Ai and EQX Den. The dining programme follows what Red Sea Global describes as an approach to “indulgently healthy” nutrition, with the restaurants designed to combine culinary experiences with the resort’s wider focus on health and performance. Earlier plans for the property had included five culinary venues, but Red Sea Global’s latest opening announcement confirms four dining concepts.

Equinox's first international resort

Not only does this new opening mark the first Equinox Resort and Wellness Centre in the Middle East, but the opening also represents a significant expansion for Equinox Hotels. Until now, the brand’s hotel and resort presence has been limited to the United States, making AMAALA its first international resort.

For Saudi Arabia, the arrival of Equinox adds another internationally recognised wellness and fitness brand to AMAALA’s growing hospitality portfolio. Its positioning also reflects the destination’s broader focus on combining luxury hospitality with health, sport and recovery.
