For those flying in, the King Abdulaziz International Airport can be reached in around 25 minutes. Whether visiting for business or leisure, Raffles Jeddah offers a luxurious base from which to experience both the city’s contemporary energy and its rich cultural heritage.

Like other Raffles destinations, the hotel cultivates a sophisticated yet approachable ambiance, drawing an international mix of high-net-worth travellers, regional leaders, and local tastemakers. Thoughtfully zoned indoor and outdoor gathering areas foster an energetic social atmosphere, balanced by secluded residential-style retreats that ensure total privacy. Throughout the day, the air carries a refined calm, marked by attentive personal service, organic architectural light play, and sweeping views across the water.
The Rooms & Suites
Raffles Jeddah features 142 guestrooms and 40 suites, all designed around the same principles of space and connection to the sea. Starting at 66 sq m, even the entry-level rooms are among the largest in Jeddah. Every room includes a private balcony, a generously sized bathroom with a bathtub and dual vanities, and the services of a dedicated Raffles butler. Most notably, every room enjoys a sea view.
I stayed in the Grand Panoramic Seaview Room, where soft pastel greens echoed both the Red Sea beyond the window and the distinctive mashrabiyas of Al Balad. Seashells and maritime-inspired objects sit alongside artwork depicting the historic district and subtle heritage motifs, creating a thoughtful blend of coastal influences and local culture. The highlight is undoubtedly the full-width balcony, which offers sweeping views of the sea. Movable mashrabiya-inspired panels provide privacy and shade without compromising the scenery.
Attention to detail is evident throughout Raffles Jeddah. Heated bathroom floors add a touch of comfort, while an extensive pillow menu ranges from lavender-infused options to an anti-ageing pillow designed to reduce facial pressure during sleep. The same thoughtful approach extends to service. Returning to the room, I found charging cables neatly rolled and secured with a leather band, while a Raffles-branded lens cloth had been placed beside my sunglasses.
The Dining
Under the direction of Executive Chef Carmine Di Luggo and Executive Pastry Chef Jean-François Lavialle, dining at Raffles Jeddah draws on Italian and French influences, with subtle Asian touches that nod to the brand’s Singaporean roots.
Surl’O, the hotel’s all-day brasserie, blends flavours from east and west while overlooking the Red Sea through floor-to-ceiling windows. Breakfast is served à la carte rather than buffet-style and was a highlight, particularly the Eggs Benedict and pastry basket. Beyond breakfast, standouts include the Gambas al Ajillo and Mushroom Risotto, while the mocktail menu shines with the Jeddah Sling, a local interpretation of the iconic Singapore Sling first created at Raffles Singapore in 1915.
Atorie Lounge & Patisserie combines French pâtisserie with Japanese influences and evolves throughout the day from a relaxed coffee spot into an elegant evening lounge. Afternoon tea pairs matcha scones with tarte au citron and finger sandwiches elevated with Japanese mayonnaise.
A third dining concept, La Marea, is expected to open later this summer, serving French and Italian cuisine. Look out for the Chicken Tortelli alla Genovese, Chef Carmine’s take on a dish from his hometown.
Spa & Wellness
Wellness is a central part of the Raffles Jeddah experience, with separate spa and wellness facilities for ladies and gentlemen. Each includes treatment rooms, a Moroccan hammam, thermal areas, a fitness centre, a swimming pool, and relaxation spaces designed for privacy and comfort.
The outdoor infinity pool offers a different atmosphere altogether. Open to both men and women, it is framed by greenery, comfortable loungers, and uninterrupted Red Sea views. Staff circulate with chilled water, cold towels, and sunscreen, ensuring guests remain comfortable throughout the day. Families are also catered for, with a kids’ club and children’s pool scheduled to open soon.
For events, the Pearl and Crystal Ballrooms provide dramatic settings framed by floor-to-ceiling windows. Sea-view meeting rooms, a VIP lounge, a business centre, and expansive function spaces make the property equally suited to conferences and corporate gatherings.
