Riyadh Air will launch in Q3 of 2025

Riyadh Air, Saudi Arabia's ambitious new national carrier, has announced a slight delay in its launch, now targeting a debut in the third quarter of 2025.

Initially expected to launch in the first half of 2025, and this adjustment to the launch timeframe comes as a result of a delay in the delivery of the airline's first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, a crucial step in the airline's operational plans.

Ongoing supply chain challenges and production delays at Boeing have necessitated a revised timeline. Riyadh Air has confirmed that its first 787-9 aircraft is currently in the final stages of assembly at Boeing's production facilities. The airline has placed a substantial order for 72 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, signifying its long-term commitment to modern, fuel-efficient aircraft.

Despite this unexpected setback, Riyadh Air remains committed to its vision of becoming a world-class airline, connecting Saudi Arabia to global destinations and contributing to the nation's ambitious tourism and economic growth plans.

It is hoped that this slight delay in the launch timeline will allow Riyadh Air to firmly ensure a smooth and successful entry into the global aviation market. The airline will continue to work closely with Boeing to expedite the delivery of its aircraft and finalise its operational plans for a successful launch in the third quarter of 2025.
