Say goodbye to long layovers and stressful airport dashes, direct flights offer a seamless and stress-free travel experience - and with almost a dozen new routes between Saudi and various destination around the world, direct travel just got a little more exciting. 

With summer in full swing, maybe you're thinking about planning your next vacation? Despite being perfectly positioned in the middle of the world and intersecting most long-haul routes, even here in the Middle East international travel can mean travel itineraries that include multiple stopovers. And for those not wanting to spend hours upon hours travelling or sitting waiting in various airports, this is the listing for you - these are the newest direct flights, to the hottest international destinations, straight from Saudi Arabia

Whether you're looking to travel locally or are feeling a little more adventurous, here are some new, direct routes connecting Saudi Arabia with a number of destinations across the Middle East, Europe and Asia. 

Air France - KLM: Paris & Riyadh

After a hiatus was implemented on the Air France - KLM route in 2019, the direct flight connecting Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport and Paris' famous Charles de Gaulle Airport will relaunch this summer. This reintroduction of a regular flight schedule between the two capital cities will be ideal for those seeking an indulgent Parisian summer, a visit to the French Tennis Open or a quick shopping trip this summer. 

Air France will begin with three weekly flights — on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays — from May 19 to June 1, 2025. Then, starting June 2, the airline will increase its service to five weekly flights for the remainder of the summer season, adding Tuesdays and Sundays to the schedule.

British Airways: London Heathrow & Jeddah

It has been five years since the British Airways London Heathrow to Jeddah flight route was suspended, and the direct route returned to the skies in November 2024 and now an expanded schedule has been announced. The revived route currently operates four days a week, and in the summer of 2026, the schedule will increase to a frequency of five days a week, connecting the two cities throughout the entire year.

British Airways: London Heathrow & Riyadh

British Airways is improving connectivity between Saudi Arabia and the UK by increasing its Riyadh to London Heathrow service from seven to 13 flights per week for the summer season. As of 30 March 2025, customers will benefit from nearly double the number of flights, with more than 80,000 additional seats versus last year.

Cebu Pacific: Manila & Riyadh

Direct flights between Riyadh and Manila will soon be launched by the Philippines' largest low-cost carrier as it grows its operations in the Middle East. Riyadh was last served by the airline until July 2017. The airline announced a schedule of four weekly flights, detailing specific departure days for each direction: Riyadh to Manila services will run every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, while Manila to Riyadh flights will depart on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

Ethiopian Airlines: Addis Ababa & Jizan

Extending the range of Ethiopian Airlines flights across the Kingdom, this new flight connecting Addis Ababa and Jizan will be the airline's fifth direct route in service. Jizan, in the Jazan provinces is renowned for its greenery and rich agricultural heritage. 

From February 1, 2026

Eurowings: Stuttgart & Jeddah

For the first time ever, German affordable airline Eurowings, will offer a direct flight between south-western German city, and the Saudi Arabian port city of Jeddah. Although few exact details have been announced about this route, it has been confirmed that two flights will operate weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and the flight route will begin with the launch of the airline's winter schedule in November, and run through until 2026.

Flynas: Kuwait & Jeddah

This direct flight route connecting Jeddah and Kuwait will operate three times weekly, and is slated to relaunch on Saturday November 1, 2025. With the addition of this new route, flynas will now operate a total of 10 weekly flights between Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, complementing its existing daily service between Riyadh and Kuwait. With this direct route becoming available, it means that there will be no stop in Riyadh, resulting in this flight being a quick 2 hours to Kuwait, and 2 hours 20 minutes on the return.

Flynas: Nairobi & Riyadh

Set to launch on October 5, this brand-new route will connect Riyadh with Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, with three weekly flights. Operating three flights a week, this new flight path opens up a new vacation destination for those living in Saudi to discover. Visas are relatively straightforward for Saudis to get their hands on, via online application for an ETA.

The latest addition to the Kingdom's direct flight network is the newly launched direct connection between the Kingdom's capital city of Riyadh and Italy's design capital of Milan — courtesy of the low-cost national carrier, flynas. Operating three times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, this new route invites or Saudi travellers, whether visiting for business or pleasure to enjoy the allure of northern Italy. Likewise, Italian visitors will find a smoother journey into Saudi Arabia’s cultural and historical core.

Flynas: Moscow & Riyadh

Direct flights between Riyadh and Moscow have long been anticipated, given the growing demand from both business and leisure travellers seeking efficient connectivity between Saudi Arabia and Russia. Starting 1 August 2025, flynas will be the first airline to offer this route, responding to an evident need for seamless travel driven by rising tourism, expanding economic partnerships, and enhanced cultural engagement between the two nations.

Flynas: Dijbouti & Jeddah

Low-cost local airline, Flynas is now operating three (plus) direct weekly flights between Jeddah and the African destination of Dijbouti. This will be the airline's inaugural direct flight route connecting the two destinations. Given the low-cost status of Flynas, the prices for this new direct connection will begin from just SAR529. Djibouti, a small East African nation, offers a unique blend of natural wonders and cultural experiences for adventurous travellers. Its diverse landscapes range from the vibrant coral reefs of the Red Sea to the otherworldly salt flats of Lake Abbe and the dramatic volcanic landscapes of the Danakil Depression.

Hainan Airlines: Haikou & Jeddah

This brand new direct flight will connect Jeddah to the southern Chinese city of Haikou, known as the Hawaii of China. The launch of this new direct flight opens up a fresh travel opportunity for Saudi nationals, while giving Chinese visitors easier access to the rich heritage and scenic charm of the Red Sea port city. Hainan Airlines will operate this new route three times weekly — on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays — providing travellers with a direct, 10-hour flight spanning 7,382 km (4,588 miles) between two dynamic cities gaining increasing prominence on the global stage.

Lufthansa: Munich & Riyadh

Marking 65 years since Lufthansa's first flight to Saudi Arabia, and 8 years since this flight route previously operated, the German airline is relaunching its non-stop flight connecting Munich and Riyadh. Operating three times a week, this flight route will offer travellers 293 seats across three classes. This relaunch not only enhances connectivity between Germany and Saudi Arabia but also reflects growing demand for travel to Riyadh, driven by Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 agenda and upcoming global events like Expo 2030 and the FIFA Men’s World Cup 2034.

Oman Air: Muscat & Taif

This route will mark Oman Air's fifth Saudi Arabian route. Slated to take off from January 31, 2026, this new route between Muscat and Taif will operate three times weekly, although the days of operation are yet to be confirmed.

Qatar Airways: Doha & Abha

Two flights a week will connect Doha's Hamad International Airport with Abha International Airport, as the flight route is reintroduced by Qatar Airways. The resumption of this direct flight, Abha becomes the eleventh Saudi destination served by the carrier. 

From January 2, 2025

Qatar Airways: Doha & Neom Bay 

Already operating several flights connecting the Qatari capital city with the up-coming Red Sea destination, Qatar Airways is increasing the number of flights linking to the two growing destinations. QR 1204 operates four times a week flying on Thursdays and Saturdays, and these new additional flights will operate on Tuesdays and Sundays leading to an double increase in frequency on the flight path.

Saudia: London & Dammam

After a 15-year hiatus, the Kingdom's national airline, Saudia is set to resume direct flights connecting Dammam and London Heathrow. From November 2025, Saudia will operate three flights weekly connecting the two cities.

Saudia: Bali & Jeddah 

Operating three time a week, this new direct flight connecting Jeddah and Bali's main international airport is set to be a popular route throughout the summer. Launching just in time for the Eid Al-Fitr vacation, linking the Kingdom's waterside city to Indonesia's tropical and popular destination of Bali, this flight route is set to be a busy one. It is also expected that many Hajj pilgrims will also use this route to visit the Holy City.

Saudia: London & Neom Bay

The Kingdom's national carrier Saudia will now operate a brand new weekly flight linking the exciting and futuristic NEOM Bay destination with London's second busiest airport from March of 2025. Flights are bookable on this new route from January, however the first take off is slated to take place on Sunday March 30.

Singapore Airlines

After a twelve year hiatus, Singapore Airlines returns to the Kingdom with a direct connection between Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport and Singapore's Changi Airport. With visa-free travel access for Saudis and Saudi Arabian passport holders, this four times weekly, direct service between the two cities is set to invite a new swathe of vacation and business opportunities.

Virgin Airlines: London Heathrow & Riyadh

A daily return route, the flights to Riyadh will be operated on Virgin Atlantic's state-of-the-art A330neo aircraft, specifically operating on long-haul routes, this Airbus aircraft offers passengers a comfortable and luxurious travel experience. With the first flight scheduled to depart London Heathrow on March 30, 2025, the new flight route between the two cities will be bookable from September 12 of this year.

Wizz Air: London Gatwick & Medina

One of the first low-cost carriers to offer affordable rates on long-haul travel, Wizz Air has announced their second long-haul link between the UK and Saudi Arabia. From August 1 of this year, the low-cost, no frills airline will add a direct route between the two cities for the very first time. With a capacity of 239 seats, this route will be operated using new, sustainable and long-range aircrafts A321XLR and offer passengers seven flights a week on both routes.

Wizz Air: London Heathrow & Jeddah

Aiming to make international air travel a relatively affordable affair, the ultra-low-cost airline, Wizz Air has announced a new daily route connecting London and Jeddah. With this no frills and no extras airline, be sure to bring a book, download your favourite music album or plan to get some work done, as there is no in-flight food service or entertainment included in the price of the ticket.
