Jeddah's King Abdulaziz International Airport is full of options for food and drink, and now the UK's Pret A Manger is bringing its signature British brews to the city's departures terminal.
Expanding the options for pre-travel eats in Jeddah's King Abdulaziz International Airport, Pret A Manger will be serving a selection of barista-prepared beverages including a variety of coffees, alongside other options such as teas, fresh juices and smoothies. The quick coffee chain also delivers on providing travellers with baked goods and sandwich options.
The opening date for the airport branch — the first in Saudi Arabia — hasn't yet been revealed, but billboards in the brand's signature burgundy colours have been spotted at the airport with a notice saying 'Coming Soon'.
One of the UK's Most Popular Coffee Chains
Pret A Manger, which first opened in 1986, will be a familiar sight to anyone who has visited the UK capital. There are almost 300 branches in London alone, and hundreds more dotted across the country.
Beyond its 100% Arabica coffee, the company focuses on serving organic and sustainably sourced, freshly made food throughout the day, starting with buttery croissants at breakfasts followed by baguettes and wraps and salad bowls at lunch.
Slated to be Pret's next international outpost, the King Abdulaziz International Airport location in Jeddah, will join seven outlets already operating in Dubai, plus branches in Paris and several other French cities.
Saudi Arabia's Burgeoning Tourism Sector
The growth of Saudi's tourism sector is undeniable. A report by the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) revealed record-breaking numbers visited the Kingdom in 2023, with more than 100 million tourists contributing to a 32% increase in tourist figures. In May of this year, it was revealed that Saudi is the second most popular international destination for MENA travellers.
And in the capital, Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport was recently awarded the coveted title of the World's Most Punctual Airport, with an on-time performance rate of 88.23 percent.
With this in mind, the opening of Pret, spells good news for the fast-growing numbers of visitors coming to the Kingdom.
