Private sector employees will enjoy nearly a week off work as the official holiday dates coincide with the weekend

Saudi Arabia confirms 4 day holiday for Eid Al-Fitr

Mark your diaries, it's time to start looking at booking that vacation, the official Eid Al-Fitr holiday dates have been announced. 

The exciting news was confirmed yesterday Wednesday, March 12, for private sector employees across Saudi Arabia. The Kingdom's Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development officially declared a four-day holiday to mark Eid Al-Fitr and the end of Ramadan 2025.

Officially, the holiday period will commence at the end of the workday on Saturday, March 29, with employees scheduled to return to their duties on the morning of Thursday, April 3.  

Although just four days have been announced as official holiday days, these days also coincide with the Saudi weekend, and so for the private sector, this means an extended 6-day weekend. For those working a standard Sunday to Thursday working week, this means that the days off to celebrate the culmination of Ramadan 2025 and the celebratory period of Eid Al-Fitr 2025 will fall on:

  • Friday, March 28
  • Saturday, March 29
  • Sunday, March 30
  • Monday, March 31
  • Tuesday, April 1
  • Wednesday, April 2

This extended break presents a wonderful opportunity for locals and residents to unwind or travel, celebrate with family and friends, and partake in the cherished traditions associated with Eid Al-Fitr.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has also reminded employers of their obligations under Article 24 of the Labor Law, ensuring that all employees are able to fully enjoy this special holiday period.
