Saudi ranks third globally for international tourism arrivals

The tourism boom in Saudi Arabia is undeniable. 

According to a report completed and released this month by the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), the Kingdom has emerged as a global tourism hotspot, with its stunning landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and vibrant cities attracting visitors from around the world.

Saudi's Tourism Boom

In a remarkable achievement, the Kingdom has secured the third spot globally in terms of international tourist arrivals growth in the first eight to nine months of 2024, compared to the same period in 2019.

In 2023, Saudi Arabia climbed 15 spots in the global ranking of inbound tourist spending, reaching the 12th position. The UN World Tourism Organisation revealed that by September 2024, the Kingdom had experienced an impressive 73% surge in international tourist arrivals and a massive 207% increase in tourism revenue.

This significant leap highlights the country's growing popularity as a tourist destination. This surge in tourism can be attributed to the Saudi government's ambitious Vision 2030 initiative, which aims to diversify the economy and position the Kingdom as a leading global tourism destination.
