Saudia has announced a significant expansion of its flight schedule to the Red Sea, increasing total operations on the route to 44 flights for the Eid Al Fitr holiday. This initiative was launched for Eid was launched in partnership with the Saudi Tourism Authority and Red Sea Global, and it aims to streamline access to the Kingdom’s flagship regenerative tourism destination during one of the busiest travel periods of the year.
The increased capacity directly supports Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 plans, and most specifically targets the National Tourism Strategy, which targets 150 million visitors by 2030.
By providing 20 additional services from major hubs in Riyadh and Jeddah, Saudia is facilitating seamless travel to the luxury resorts now operational along the west coast. The move highlights a strategic alignment between the carrier and the Public Investment Fund’s (PIF) giga-projects to establish the Red Sea as a premier global hub for local and international luxury travellers.
Currently, the Red Sea destination is undergoing rapid development as part of Vision 2030. Upon its completion in 2030, the site will encompass 50 resorts across 22 islands and six inland locations. As of the time of writing, there are nine ultra-luxury, and sought-after resorts open in the Red Sea region. The latest indulgent stay and unique destination to open was the InterContinental The Red Sea, which officially debuted on Shura Island in January 2026. Designed by Foster + Partners, the resort features a "coral bloom" aesthetic with 210 villas and rooms that blend into the island’s natural coastline.

Guests traveling on these holiday routes will have access to Saudia’s updated digital suite, which includes AI-powered travel planning and streamlined airport procedures. This expansion is bolstered by the airline’s broader growth strategy, which includes the pending delivery of 116 new aircraft to augment its existing fleet of 149. As a member of the SkyTeam alliance, Saudia continues to bridge its domestic network of 26 airports with over 100 global destinations across four continents.
