Marking a major milestone in both local and global public transportation, the unveiling of the Riyadh Metro system in two phases over the last two weeks has been welcomed by visitors, residents and locals across the nation.

The Riyadh Metro is the largest driverless metro systems in the world, spanning 176 kilometres with 85 stations across six different lines. Operating without the need for human drivers, the metro is expected to be highly efficient and reliable, whilst the spanning over six different lines means the metro system will cover a wide range of districts in Riyadh, making it a convenient option for commuters to travel across the city.

Each metro stations are designed with modern architecture and equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, and several metro stations feature stunning public art installations, making the journey a cultural experience.

The Riyadh Metro aims to significantly transform urban mobility in Riyadh, reducing traffic congestion and improving air quality, and is a symbol of Saudi Arabia's commitment to modernisation and progress.

It is also important to note that the introduction of the Riyadh Metro is part of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 initiative, aiming to reduce reliance on cars and improve the overall quality of life in the city, and encourage energy efficient modes of transportation in the Kingdom.
