In search of a true luxury concept in the Kingdom, I discovered a newcomer to the scene that’s already become a landmark in hospitality - the Jeddah EDITION.
Located in Jeddah Yacht Club & Marina, with a backdrop of the Formula One racetrack and panoramic Red Sea vistas, the Jeddah EDITION hotel marks its debut in Saudi, gracefully rising into the city's iconic skyline. Stepping inside, I was instantly transported to another world.
A Warm Welcome
Despite being awestruck by the number of guests and visitors at The Jeddah EDITION, I was equally impressed by the reception I received. Upon entering, I was immediately greeted with genuine hospitality and by the hotel’s signature scent, created in collaboration with slow perfumery brand, Le Labo.
Distinctive Design
This latest addition to the iconic EDITION brand embodies the spirit and character of Jeddah, reflecting its past and cultural heritage. Architecturally inspired by modern yachts, the hotel’s design seamlessly blends exterior and interior aesthetics.
The Jeddah EDITION features 63 rooms and 11 suites. Its rooms are sunlit with white oak accents and balconies overlooking either the Red Sea or the F1 track for sunset views. The hotel also offers expansive and indulgent options such as the 600 sq m Penthouse and duplex Royal Penthouse.
Upon arrival, guests are greeted by a striking centrepiece – an orange spherical sculpture by artist Vincent Leroy – evoking the city’s sunrises and sunsets. This artistic motif continues throughout, with notable pieces like the mirrored elevators designed by Christopher Gaignon.
The interior decor is equally captivating, with white sofas adorned with beige faux fur throws, a hallmark of EDITION hotels worldwide. Lavish touches of purple, reminiscent of lavender, enhance the ambience of The Jeddah EDITION. I find the hotel lobby ideal for both business meetings and casual gatherings, offering a luxurious selection of teas, coffees, and freshly baked goods. And the spacious balcony overlooking the Red Sea, Al Rahmah Mosque (also known as the floating mosque), and the bocce court adds to the hotel’s charm.
Signature Flavour
Hailing from New York, Chef Cédric Vongerichten oversees Maritime, a restaurant blending French-Asian cuisine with “the timeless allure of the ocean.” Signature dishes include wagyu with asparagus and mushroom sauce, salmon sashimi, and corn crackers.
I chose a charming table with a view of the kitchen to watch the chefs at work. Starting with warm salted butter bread, I then tried the crab cakes with sweet chilli sauce – a delicate treat.
Succumbing to my sweet tooth, I couldn’t resist having Maritime’s signature banana sundae next, featuring caramelised bananas, cake, and vanilla ice cream. Don’t miss the pandan custard, combining sweet custard with a refreshingly tangy layer of passion fruit.
Waterside or Poolside, You Choose
This EDITION offers exceptional facilities to enhance your stay. The fourth floor hosts a sports club with views of the Red Sea’s emerald waters (soon to be complemented by an indulgent spa).
I decided to end my day at the rooftop pool, greeted with a basket of care essentials, including sunscreen, a cold towel, and lemon-cucumber infused water. Here there is a selection of cold drinks here to enjoy, like ginger, passion fruit and vanilla, iced coffee, and more.

A Greek restaurant will be opening by the pool soon, and the team tells me that the new dining experiences not only promises good food but delightful evening views as the sun sets on the Corniche.
