Unveiled last night during an industry-studded ceremony at Les Salles du Carrousel in Paris, marking the event's international debut outside London, the 2026 edition of The World's 50 Best Hotels celebrated exceptional properties across 22 territories, welcoming 10 dynamic new entries alongside a suite of elite accolades.
Dominating the skyline from its enviable Victoria Harbour address, Rosewood Hong Kong claimed the top spot as The World's Best Hotel for a second consecutive year at The 50 Best Hotels awards ceremony. A masterpiece, conceived by interior designer Tony Chi as a 65-story vertical estate, the hotel seamlessly blends modern luxury with rich local identity. Its triumph is driven by world-class standards across every dimension, featuring 413 guest rooms and suites, 11 acclaimed dining concepts that act as destination venues in their own right, and the expansive multi-level Asaya wellness sanctuary. By pairing impeccable intuitive service with a deep connection to Hong Kong's cultural landscape, Rosewood sets the ultimate benchmark for modern global hospitality.
Meanwhile, Southeast Asia solidified its dominance at the pinnacle of luxury travel. Capella Bangkok rose from third position in 2025 to number two, closely followed by Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River coming in at number three. Representing the GCC on the global stage, Dubai's iconic Atlantis The Royal claimed the number four position, earning dual honours as both The Best Hotel in the Middle East and the Best Beach Hotel. Unfortunately, this year, no Saudi Arabian destinations featured in the top 100 listing.
Europe claimed the highest total with 21 listed properties. Passalacqua on Lake Como came in at number five, named The Best Hotel in Europe and winning the Best Boutique Hotel Award for the third straight year. Italy and France earned six spots each, while the UK secured four, with London entries including Claridge's at number 13, Raffles London at The OWO at number 28, and The Connaught at number 49.
