Last night, the fifty best hotels in the world were unveiled.
In the stunning surroundings of London’s historic Guildhall, the second annual World's 50 Best Hotels ceremony was attended by hoteliers and hospitality teams from around the world. With its grand architecture and storied history, the Guildhall provided the perfect backdrop for an evening dedicated to honouring excellence in hospitality from all corners of the earth.
The atmosphere brimmed with anticipation as the countdown continued through the night.
Not just of the hotels themselves, the 50 Best Hotels of the people behind them — the staff who embody the spirit of hospitality and work tirelessly to ensure every guest leaves with unforgettable memories. Each attendee represented not just their hotels but also the unique stories and cultures of their respective regions.
Best of the GCC
Recognising hotels and hospitality brands that have set the pace, or have redefined the standards of service and luxury, the GCC made a notable impact.
Showcasing the region's thriving hospitality sector, there were several noteworthy placings.
Six Senses Zighy Bay was honoured at no. 45, which stands as a testament to the brand and properties' commitment to sustainability and exceptional guest experiences. Meanwhile, the relatively new opening of The Lana Dubai, part of the esteemed Dorchester Collection, made its debut touching the top twenty, at no. 23, signalling its arrival as a serious contender on the global stage.
However, the evening's standout performance came from Atlantis The Royal, which received the coveted Highest Climber Award. Rising from no. 44 last year to to an impressive no. 9, this remarkable leap underscores the hotel's commitment to redefining luxury and setting new benchmarks in service and amenities. An impressive leap, and example of how rapidly the industry can evolve and how dedication and innovation can yield extraordinary results.
Best in the World
From Paris to Italy, South East Asia and beyond, the 50 Best Hotels are dotted around the globe.
And although fifty hotels were listed as part of the awards, it was the announcement of the top ten that kept everyone on their toes throughout the night.
Previously ranked at no. 11 in the 2023 awards, Capella Bangkok made a massive entrance placing in the no. 1 spot for 2024.
