As the Islamic Biennale 2023 comes to a close, the opening date for Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale has been confirmed to be February 20, 2024. And, will take place in the JAX District.

This will be the second edition of the Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale, the 2022 event celebrated the theme of 'Feeling the Stones'.

Scheduled to span three months, the 2024 edition of the biennale will encompass freshly commissioned art and architectural ventures alongside existing artworks and research projects. Additionally, a vibrant program of live performances, concerts, and poetry readings is also expected to be featured throughout the biennale.

Just last week the curation team for the biennale was unveiled. The dynamic panel was announced under the leadership of Ute Meta Bauer, as the artistic director.

The curation team consists of a diverse group of artists and experts in curation. Among them, Wejdan Reda serves as both the curator and co-curator for the Diriyah Biennale Foundation and DCAB 2024. Rahul Gudipudi will take on the role of adjunct curator, working alongside co-curators Rose Lejeune and Anca Rujoiu.

The objective of the Kingdom's contemporary art scene is to captivate both art appreciators and visitors by showcasing the innovative ideas of the country's creative talents, alongside some incredible international creators.

Showcasing art pieces and installations through groundbreaking commissions, exclusive events, interpretive resources, and a diverse public program that included discussions, seminars, hands-on sessions, and performances, Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale 2024 is set to be another exciting edition.
