An exciting new chapter awaits the contemporary art world with a brand new art gallery opening this week in the JAX District.

The Saudi Arabia Museum of Contemporary Art (SAMoCA) will officially open to the public on Wednesday November 1. Opening in Riyadh's JAX District, SAMoCA will be the first art and culture destination to open in a step to establish the Saudi Arabia Museum of Contemporary Art in Diriyah, which is aiming to become one of the Kingdom's largest contemporary art locations.

SAMoCA will open with a biennale to showcase the new art and culture hub, and the works of both local and international artistic creatives, the third edition of the International Biennial of Contemporary Art of the South, known as BienalSur will be the inaugural event.

This year's BienalSur will showcase the works of more than 400 artists and creatives, under the theme of "Imagine: Fantasies, Dreams, Utopias".

Visitors to the exhibition will experience the bienale in two settings: the urban landscape and within the halls of SAMoCA. Numerous artworks will be featured in public areas, aiming to provoke thought and interest through striking installations that transform the perception of space, unveiling fresh and unforeseen elements that illuminate the realms of imagination and creativity.

The majority of the global artists chosen for this exhibition have contributed primarily new projects or site-specific adaptations, specially designed for this edition, and are representative of the exhibited art style.
