Dedicated to a diverse array of entertainment offerings, Qiddiya City is poised to stand as the Kingdom's premier destination for amusement and leisure, and now is likely to become Riyadh's go-to destination for international sporting events and concerts.

Announced in 2017 with construction beginning on the site just two years later, the new destination will feature two world-class golf courses, 27 different entertainment attractions, 275 high-octane rides and rollercoasters alongside to be found across 12 branded theme parks.

Residential and hospitality accommodations will be created for approximately 600,000 residents and visitors across 25 distinct districts which will intertwine entertainment areas with everyday amenities, cultural locations, and both multi-use and green spaces.

And, just announced this week, Qiddiya City will also be home to a newly announced, multi-purpose stadium, which has been named in honour of the Kingdom's Prince Mohammed Bin Salman.

Perched on a cliff face and set atop the mountains of Turaif, over 200 metres above sea level, the Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Stadium will be one of the world's most unique sporting and entertainment arenas.

Design-led, but experience focussed, the Prosperous-designed Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Stadium will use cutting edge technology featuring both retractable roof, wall and field to allow for use throughout the year, regardless of weather.

An impressive - and uniquely retractable - LED wall-cum-tv will span the horizon over hundreds of meters, ensuring not one second of the concert or sporting experience is missed, but also allowing for the walls of the stadium to be opened with views over of the natural landscape of Tuwaiq, embracing the stadium's breath-taking location.

The multi-purpose Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Stadium will have the capacity to host a seated audience of up to 45,000 at any given time, and up to 60,000 total visitors.

Following Australia bowing out of the bid, Saudi Arabia is currently the only nation in the running to host the World Cup 2034, and it is expected that this incredible mountain-top pitch will host a number of the competitive international games.

Expected annual visitors Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Stadium are expected to top 5.8 million, with 1.8 million visits being solely football related. With this in mind, upon completion, the mountain-top stadium was also announced as the home-pitch for Riyadh's Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr football teams.

Located approximately 40km from Riyadh's Downtown, the entertainment haven of Qiddiya City is expected to be serviced by excellent connectivity to Riyadh City and the King Khalid International Airport through a network of well-developed motorways, roads, and public transportation options.
